Do you spend hours on Pinterest searching for 'aesthetic' or 'Dark Academia' pics? Are you a fiend for retro copies of Vogue? Maybe you were known as pretentious in school, but they never understood you anyway. Underneath the dyed hair is a sensitive person who has a moral system they will not betray. As much as you may romanticise the pain of existence and are prone to moody moods, you are really just decent but have experienced trauma that has made you bitter. Like the Beckett St. Traffic Light Island, you are not the centre of the world's chaos but you represent the 'artistic centre' of Derby. You are most compatible emotionally with the Mercian Way roundabout, somewhat of a tortured poetic soul who will be able to show you out of the world of theory/fantasy and ground you in your physical surroundings. Read more, create more and seek a job in the creative industries. Just remember that you don't know as much as you think you do and you can always learn and grow from others that you may not have considered 'on your wavelength'.

Beckett St. Traffic Light Island

It seems as if the world is mad nowadays - apart from you. Each day you feel that more and more people come to depend on you. And why wouldn't they? Out of the Derby roundabouts you are one of the most trustworthy and play a central role in the town centre. Just remember that it is okay to treat yourself and set boundaries so you can conserve your energy. It may feel weird/uneasy to try and relax more, but self-care (baths, nice meals and meditation etc.) would maybe provide you with the restoration you need and which others can't provide for you. You are most compatible with Pentagon Island, who will appreciate you for your work-hard, play-hard mindset. It's okay to make mistakes and be reckless; you deserve to do what you want and not have to cater to people's needs constantly.

The Cock Pit

Over a barren island looms the Friar Gate Goods Yard warehouse or whatever it is. The potential it has can be appreciated but the likelihood of the place being converted into a noteworthy venue for raves or anything that could make Derby semi interesting fades away as the days go by. It's obvious that you are not ready to let go of the past for whatever reason and you can be emotionally numb as a result. But that's okay. Out of all the Derby Roundabouts you by far have the most mystique even though you don't see it yourself. You will attract others such as the Beckett St. Traffic Light Island, but be aware that your intensity is unmatched and as much as people care about you, you know that they will never fully understand your personal perspective. You could be the Roundabout of this generation, there's still time to channel your energy into a productive artistic/philosophical endeavour. If this doesn't appeal, maybe explore becoming a psychotherapist, mental health nurse or psychiatrist.

Mercian Way Roundabout

You are Derby's answer to the New York skateboarder type. That said, if you've outgrown Derby (as you've said) then why are you here? As much as you chat shit about the area, and talk about relocating to Bristol, Manchester or London, there is clearly a reason as to why you haven't yet. Whether the obstacles are financial or emotional, this is your sign to stop fighting the urge to push yourself to be more like somebody else and escape your troubles. You are young, there is time to grow. In the meantime, just smoke weed and shoegaze with the people at the skatepark and get it out your system because it seems to be what you want in these times. There is a chance you may meet a soon-to-be very significant person in your life soon, best represented by the Kingsway Island or Beckett St. Traffic Light Island. PSA, they may end up breaking your heart. Well, it's quite certain. But then you are known to have these tumultuous situation-ships with intimidating people with dyed hair. I wouldn't be surprised if you were to be scouted as a model for an upcoming streetwear brand, but I believe that you have undiscovered talents in retail. Look for jobs in record stores and thrift stores or set up your own brand, this is your year to get the bag trust me.

A6 Traffic Light Island

Mad, loud, obnoxious, insensitive and immature. You've been told you were one of these at a point. But whatever they say, they can't take away your knack for survival. You've taken many Ls but here you are - unscathed. Your liver and kidneys have taken a hit, but that doesn't bother you, like a cockroach you continue to exist in the shittiest places with relative ease. You've cheated on many partners, but there is one that you'll always remember - the one you always think about when you've had those pints/smoked in the afternoon. The Kingsway Roundabout. The only person that's ever managed to out do your toxic behaviour. You remember how vulnerable that made you feel. It's okay. In many ways, underneath the bravado is a young soul, scared of abandonment and also commitment. But you're grown now. It's time to settle a bit, regroup and address the issues you've had for decades. You can do it.

Lara Croft Island

A nice patch of lawn, cobblestones and WAY too many direction posts sum up this roundabout. You tend to live within your comfort zone and why not? You know yourself the best out of the Derby Roundabouts and you establish healthy boundaries in order to maintain your happiness. You tend to see beauty in details and the natural world and it's from this that you derive your purpose. But it isn't all plain sailing being you, as content you are on your own, others tend to overwhelm you with their issues and you can be left feeling drained. For this reason, there can be moments when a wave of feeling alone hits you, as you sense that others do not worry and care for you in the way you do them. That said, it's okay to ask for help. As much as you are practical and independent, you can't expect people to know how to help you if you don't let them know how. If you want a solid friendship, you should seek the Markeaton Roundabout. They share many traits with you and will certainly appreciate and reciprocate your caring nature.

Normanton Allotments Roundabout

Why does everyone try and make everything effort nowadays? What happened to the simple life where you could just wear Cedar Wood State everyday and not get judged? How come Jeremy Kyle got cancelled but Love Island hasn't? As much as these seem like little things, I feel you. The nostalgia you have for the past glimmers as a beacon of hope in a world that you feel becomes more mundane everyday. For this reason, you prefer to just stay out of trouble and watch TV on your own. But why not just push yourself a bit to make life more interesting? Besides going to work, you hardly have much going on socially. Maybe get in touch with mates you haven't seen in a bit, and put some energy into trying to make life a bit more bearable. You could easily get on with the A6 Traffic Light Island, the Lara Croft Island or the Spider Island but make sure you try and surround yourself with good influences as you have a track record of being easily led astray.

Mansfield Rd. White Painted Roundabout

Not in a mean way, but you're kind of a normie. But that's okay. You appreciate the 'nice' parts of Derby (if you can say they exist). When you go into town you stay around the Friar Gate/Iron Gate area, at Slug and Lettuce and Bunk. You spend way too much money on salons and sets from PLT/ Boohoo/ Oh Polly. There is not a whole bunch more to say, apart from that you do put quite a lot of pressure on yourself to seem as if you are the perfect person. But to be well does not mean not being seen in a PLT set twice, or marrying your dream partner and having 2 kids before 30. You are allowed bad days and bad moods where you aren't so stressed about how you must appear to randos on the street. It's okay for you to spiral. If people around you don't understand, Mansfield Rd. Painted Roundabout will. Take a note from them, they are proof that that many standards aren't needed to have an unproblematic existence.

Beauty College/ Police Station Island

Has anyone ever told you that you remind them of Patrick Bateman from American Psycho? If they haven't, now I have. You're work-hard, play-hard mindset has payed off, but at what cost? Do you remember when you weren't so stressed? I know you make sure you take care of your physical health and you do yoga/ meditation but have you been alone and content with it on the recent? Sorry for the questions, but at least let this Derby Roundabout quiz ask them rather than a real person. I know you'd feel vulnerable because you front as if you don't have emotions, but its a coping mechanism because you've been let down before and you don't want to give anyone the satisfaction or power of seeing that you've been affected by the consequences of their questionable choices. But you should go off on them instead of exerting so much pressure on yourself. You deserve honest people around you who will care for you. If you open up, you could be the most popular out of the Derby Roundabouts. But maybe Normanton Allotments Island or Markeaton Island would be your best bet, as they can teach you how to relax. Also, remember that you can use your resources to help the people who Derby council have 'moved on' from Pentagon Island.

Pentagon Island

You are a bunch of contradictions. You're so easy, yet hard to understand. So predictable but also reckless. It is super hard to know if you are committed to relationships or not (probs not?). That said, your mates can trust you and that's for sure. You have potential to be one of the most stylish Derby Roundabouts imo, but maybe it's just me that thinks that. But maybe experiment more with style theory. Just because you are head to toe in brands it doesn't mean you acc are coordinated. Also maybe use a few days to reevaluate what your purpose is or what you plans are for the next few years. You have talents, but you should start to think about monetising them. Maybe speak to Markeaton Roundabout and Pentagon Island, you are each at a junction in your youth and have more in common than meets the eye. Also, you're allowed to be more vulnerable. Oh and cut down on the weed you smoke and treat someone you care about, if not, I sense you will lose out on an important opportunity in the future. You'll thank me later xo

Spider Island

Food, TLC and happiness. You don't ask for much. But for some reason, you've drawn the short straw in this world. Many bad and inconvenient situations have been thrown your way and you don't know why. It is not as if you cause issues, because if it was up to you you would just be at home, alone and content with it. You tend to be a carer to your mates, so that explains why you get drawn into dramas which have no direct relationship to your own actions. You just don't deserve it. Around you there is beauty (the park is quite nice), but it is hard to see that when you just have a knack for attracting chaos. Anyway, you'll survive because you always do, but don't worry it won't be like this forever. I promise an incredible event is on your horizon and in 5 years you will recall these years as the ones that made you no matter how hard they are. Also, maybe it would be best to avoid the Police Station/ Beauty College Roundabout in Chester Green for a while. I'm not sure why, I just sense it would be for the best. You would be happier with The Cock Pit or have at least more sustained excitement with the Mercian Way Roundabout. That said, watch out, as much as Mercian Way Roundabout will love you forever and care for you, they have issues.

Markeaton Island

Crack. Head. Energy. 

That's you. You're kind of toxic and you probably shouldn't be alive rn due to how impulsive you are. Maybe people see you as free-spirited, but you and I both know, (and you'll be the 1st to admit) that you're fucked. That doesn't mean there isn't hope. You are so smart, the issue (well, is it an issue really or a choice?) is you just don't want to stop. You live for the drama and that's okay for the most part but please stop involving the good eggs of the Derby Roundabouts. Normanton Allotments Island, The Cock Pit, Markeaton Island, Starbucks Island and even the toxic A6 Traffic Light Island and Lara Croft Roundabout are so done with it, they just don't have the heart/are too proud to say it. Instead of being so wired and set on being the hottest and most unhinged Derby Roundabout, just focus on what you want from existence for once. Living in the moment with no aims will wear you out soon and I'm sorry to say, but you are NOT invincible. The Class As will catch up on you and it won't be 'hot and edgy', it will just be really, really bad. Just take care of yourself, promise me that.

Kingsway Island

You're the younger sister to the Police Station/Beauty College Roundabout. But you are  much cooler by today's standards and are never seen underdressed. Your trackies match your Acrylics, which match your bag, which matches your Starbucks. The Derby Roundabouts can be scared of you, because you don't really show love to anyone unless you think you can clout from them. In this way you can be Machiavellian and you would do well in the Fashion Industry for example. Heads up, you excel more as a leader than as a creative. Maybe leave behind Spider Island for a bit, they are not committed to a relationship and as much as you post these quotes about 'bad bitch' movements, it doesn't mean you are immune to emotions. You know who you could work with? Pentagon Island. If you want a person who is competent, an achiever and cut throat (what you want to be, but aren't really) then hang out with them - you may realise you aren't about the work-hard, play-hard mindset. The experience could show you that you actually value a less bratty approach. My advice? Just be nice. And be real about it. Pastel infographics, BnM Buddhas and crystals from wholesalers who source from 3rd world countries will not send you 'good karma'.
