Let me basically waste your time for ten minutes then project a pathological fear onto you which is literally inaccurate because this is a Buzzfeed Quiz and then make you read a result which makes you feel as if you should feel personally attacked after reading it, when you don't, bc in reality it probably has 0 bearing on your actual personhood.

What's scarier than Killer Clowns? Well for you, the sense that you will never achieve what you want. That you will end up in a few years, mediocre, with your current aspirations not more than a mockery of what could have been. 

You do not want to disappoint because you want to be the one who can provide what you believe you (and those around you) deserve. Also you've spoken about how influential you will be in the future and it would be embarrassing if it just didn't work out.

 When loved ones express how much you mean to them as you are and assure you that you don't need to stress about work so much, you will not accept it. You believe their words of sympathy are not more than an indicator that they just do not understand what it takes to become wildly successful.

You often assert that this pathological fear of failure is really a superpower (or refer to it as 'the million dollar mindset') and that it helps you achieve the results you do.

But you know what the scary truth is? That this fear is actually a coping mechanism, you just haven't realised it yet. The truth is you aren't motivated by a need to win, rather you are not mature enough to know how to cope with set backs and so avoid them as if they were that quiet kid from The Omen.

Deep down, you worry that you are a bit of a quitter because you often feel like you have 0 motivation to keep on pushing. But why are you so burnt out? 

The answer is because of your fear. It drains you 24/7.  If you just accepted that set backs are a natural part of a process of achievement then you would do better! 

That is why this Halloween you should confront your fear head on. This is the moment for you to outsmart the killer *figuratively*. You are more capable than you know and you will not crumble if a setback occurs. Just pause, rest, then come back to your project. 

Stop seeing your vulnerable nature as a demon to be exorcised, rather, work on what you need to and take it slow. You are unstoppable. Just treat yourself as a person, and not Patrick Bateman. You will feel more rewarded this way <3

That you will not succeed...

Underneath your curated persona, that prides themselves on having obscure tastes and interests, you are scared you are just like the rest of us. 

You love culture, but often, when you are alone, you feel as if you are not really part of it. You fear you will never contribute to culture and be lauded for it, that you will never make any impact on the world, at that at the end of the day, you do not understand nor are able access the planes of existence that your idols did.  

But so what if you are not worthy? So what if your idols would see you as a poser? 
so what if you can't operate on the mental planes that they can? So what if you peaked young and your magnum opus you believe will materialise just never does?

These questions keep you up when really, they shouldn't. You have enough to appreciate what you have already. Just face your fear and be appreciative this Halloween. Think about those around you and get over yourself a bit. Perhaps offer people treats and not tricks. Ask them questions. The more you bond with others on Halloween, the more you realise that it is not that bad to have something in common with them <3 In fact, they may teach you something and you may be humbled.

That you are not superior...

You used to, as a young kid, see patterns in coincidence and believe you were chosen to make important contributions to the understanding of existence. After your teen years, this warmth and sense of determinism that emanated from yourself, just evaporated. You haven't really felt it since.

You used to feel protected, like you were able to just coast through life because some sort of guardian angel was protecting you. Where did the wonder and security go? 

Now you struggle, you make mistakes and then you have to work through them like literally everyone else. All those dreams of becoming what you wanted to be have evaporated and everyday it seems like you just accept this fate. Your worst fear - worse than demons and malevolent spirits - is not just that you will never again feel special like you did when you were a child, but that you actually never were. 

I understand how hopeless this may feel, but reality is, this anxiety indicates the start of maturity. 

Yes, constant childlike wonderment may feel to you ideal, but the truth is that is kind of isn't. Have you ever thought your 'specialness' was just your talent (which you were too young to understand) projected as some external, universal entity by your consciousness because you did not believe you were capable of achieving without outside help? 

Being 'special' is nice, but age (and experience) is power. The adult is the one who teaches, who leads, who envisions and then achieves. It is hard but the rewards are more than what you could ever experience as a baby. 

This Halloween do not fear your potential. Embrace it. Now is not about feeling abandoned by the universe, now is about realising you are in control more than you ever were. You are not alone, you are independent. You are not powerless, you are free to roam the universe, and enact the dreams that 1st came to you many years ago. Once you know this, then happiness will come.

Don't give up, your disillusionment is the valley you must go tread so you can appreciate the view from the mountain <3

That you will never be happy like you were when you were a child...

What’s more crippling than the idea of both Freddy and Jason jumping you in a corn maze? Maybe for you, the fear that you just aren’t hot. 

You crave, want so much, to experience how it must feel to be so attractive that: in relationships you are not maltreated or unappreciated; that they person you want wants you back; that you are the focus of any situation and that you could make money from just your appearance. 

You spend so many hours on Instagram stalking those you envy. You fantasise about what it must be like to be them, or be in their position. A bit like Joe from You. 

Like him, you want to be happy. That’s it. 

But you know what? This obsession with attractiveness does not function to improve your situation. The belief that looks are everything is obviously one that arose your early experience but that you never grew out of. 

This Halloween, what you need to escape from is your immaturity. Realise that the world isn’t a fantasy. Yes, it could be sick to be that hot. But there will always be another issue. You could be cheated on and unappreciated still.

To be that hot is not really what you want, you just want to believe that achieving this one benchmark will fix you because you are too tired to fix yourself with the intense emotional work you need. And that’s okay. But the true horror story is that you throw away your days on the superficial to distract from the crushing burden that you could just begin your journey to happiness now.

This Halloween, I want you to do, say and be according to who you are. The shell of a person that aspires to be attractive to everyone but themselves is what remains when you suffocate the soul. And it is the soul that is attractive.

That you are not that attractive…

You know what bothers you most about those American teen slasher franchises like Scream? The fact that they are always set in schools. 

Yes, a potential threat amongst us is scary, but what irks you more is the uneasy sense that people see you as the odd one out. Every villain has an origin story (they were bullied, rejected and humiliated etc) and if we are being real, it’s them that you can identify with. You know what it is to not be able to just purchase ‘Victoria Secret’ to use the bag to carry your P.E. kit about in school without being bullied. You know what it is like for people to not pay that much attention to you. For people to whisper about as you go past. You are the type to not be invited to Halloween parties… The type to dress in an olive costume like Georgia in Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging. 

But you know what? It is not your issue that you have low self-esteem. Anyone would if they had been prey to the bitterness of social dynamics in secondary school. It is not up to you to do better or to swap interests out so you become a normie.

 The truth is people excluded you because they were threatened by how secure you came across. Whereas you were just trying to wear animal themed jumpers, because you were directed by solely play and interest, they jealous of you. 

They probably don’t even recognise this and will deny it. But at the end of the day it’s the cliquey ones that are the most insecure. This Halloween you should pity them.

That you are still the kid that was teased at school…

You are the lucky one. You don’t get heartbroken, you break hearts. You just do what you want. The truth is you are the person who the rest are scared of.

How many situations have you been insincere in? How many times did you actually do something so cold that it made someone cry? 

You like for people to cherish you, because you have realised that by giving less than nothing, people will do more for you as they aim to work harder in the hopes that the harder they work for you the better you will treat them. You encourage this process by promising to improve… but you never do. And while other people see potential in you that to change for the better, what you don't tell them is you fear you are literally incapable of doing so.

This is the cycle which has made you realise you may feasibly end up alone. This is not actually a problem, it only is for you because you need attention from others to feel like a real person. That is why you act selfishly. Deep down, you know that those who put up with you aren’t weak for sticking by you even though that's how you might treat them, they are strong because they don’t have a crippling sense of inadequacy (like you do) which prevents you from moving forward in life at all. 

This Halloween decide not to be the unexpected, unpleasant surprise that lurks around the corner, under the bed, literally doing anything toxic for just a morsel of attention. I understand Halloween is a time for being scared, but no one needs to be emotionally traumatised on this minor festive occasion. Stay home alone, and work on satisfying yourself emotionally rather than relying on everyone but yourself to fix your issues…

That you will never be able to ‘keep’ anything…

If you were a Thriller you would be Ground Hog day because you come out with the same material over and over. You are normally very loud, proud and not easily embarrassed, but when you are around a group of people who are all very witty and have good stories you start to realise you are perhaps not as entertaining as you thought you were... 

This is not an issue that most people have. But when the whole appeal of your personality is your 'banter', the concept that it is somewhat lacking is not very hopeful.

Your stories just consist of 'that one time you were off the Dark Fruits and Mandy at Leeds', or 'that time you embarrassed yourself by falling over at college'. But as long as you find these stories entertaining and as long as you are happy making crude jokes on a gc called 'shits n gigs x', then it's okay, isn't it?

I cannot really advise you that much on what to do this Halloween because regardless you will just get very inebriated and 'embarrass' yourself in some average, normal sort of way which literally no one will care about. The only advice I have is this:

Maybe you shouldn't overcompensate for lacking aspects of your personality with your 'humour' because in reality people might show you more love if you just listened to them and weren't interjecting the conversation with the deadest Ladbible type responses constantly.

That you are not funny...

Underneath the facade of Tumblr 2014 type stunts and your taste in art based on Google Searches like 'most iconic movies ever made', you are afraid you just aren't one of those people who people could sit and speak with for hours. That you aren't much more than a walking performance piece based on a Skins character...

It's hard to be yourself nowadays. Especially in a world where everything has to fit into 'aesthetics', of course you're not going to be yourself, lest someone mistypes the vibe you were going for and therefore misunderstands your whole persona. The requirement to be cool is emphasised on Tiktok and IG but the fact that they are very performative sites just means that any authenticity is just shut down. 

Be honest with yourself. No matter how much you assert you are genuinely a cool person by endlessly posting pictures of Mia Wallace and going on about 'spooky szn', you aren't really. There is no escaping that. 

Don't use social media that much? Then maybe stop making allusions to films you did not watch, or over-explaining plots to very mainstream films (like Fight Club) as if they were underground. Stop saying you listen to bands like Velvet Underground when you don't regularly. Stop romanticising any unhealthy traits you might have. It doesn't make you more real. You just end up looking like you are cosplaying Marla Singer constantly. 

The antidote to this fear is to accept you have nothing to prove to anyone, because literally no one is watching. Live your own life, no matter how uneventful it is, it will be more raw than this faux 21st century anti-hero you think you are.

That you aren't interesting or cool...
