6 Weird Things People In The UK Do

The British are an odd bunch. We should know, we are British. Personally we blame the rain! Which isn't actually that much really, but once you have moaned about it for a while seems almost continuous.

Queuing

We love to queue. Quietly and patiently, but with some moaning. Sometimes it actually feels like queuing is part of the experience.

Near constant apologising

Sorry is a British reflex. Whether it's needed or not, far to often a 'sorry' sneaks out before there is even time to think.

Chip butties

What else would you put that in-between two pieces of bread other than chips? Apparently a very British thing, but this is nothing compared to what you can by from a Kebab shop, deep fried chocolate bars anyone?

Everything shuts so early

Shops, pubs, bars. What ever you can name, it shuts earlier in the UK than elsewhere. Need a phone charger after 5.30pm? The high street is now closed until the morning.

Refusing a gift

For good or bad reasons, British people sometimes refuse a gift. In the global scale, something that is odd to do.

Always dressing as if it could be the hottest day ever or torrential rain

We mentioned rain earlier, and whilst it doesn't rain all the time. You can never tell. One day the weather might be sunny and fantastic, so you go out in a t-shirt when suddenly out of nowhere the rain is torrential. You soon learn to be ready for anything.
