The Woman Whose Hen Party Mobbed Ed Miliband Says She'll Vote Labour

"Ed has definitely got my vote," she told BuzzFeed News.

The lucky voter who caught 10 minutes of one-on-one time with Ed Miliband while on her hen night has described him as a "genuinely nice man".

Lawyer Nicola Braithwaite was on her hen do in Chester on Saturday night when the Labour campaign bus pulled up outside the pub.

"We had met for drinks in the hotel bar before going out for the evening, and my friend spotted the bus outside," she told BuzzFeed News. "As a lawyer I am interested in politics so we thought it would be fun to try and get a picture.

"We went outside and one of the team invited me on the bus. I got on and sat with Ed for a brief conversation."

Braithwaite said she was already going to vote Labour, but is even more enthusiastic after her chat with Ed.

"I was on the bus for 5–10 minutes," she said. "He just asked general questions about myself and my husband-to-be and the wedding. He asked if I was having a good day and I wished him luck in the election.

"Ed has definitely got my vote, but he already had it anyway."

Footage of the screaming party yelling "Selfie! Selfie! Selfie!" hit the internet on Sunday, with some saying it illustrated Miliband's rising popularity among women.

"I'm amazed at the response by the media," she told BuzzFeed News. "But it's certainly made the hen do memorable and will be a great addition to the wedding speeches!"
