It Turns Out That Anastasia's Beverly Hills' New Pallete "Subculture" Doesn't Have The Same Formula As Its Sister Palette And People Aren't Happy About That

"Subculture" was announced as the sister palette to the best selling "Modern Renaissance", but ABH changed the formula of their eyeshadows and people aren't happy.

If you're into makeup, you may have heard of Modern Renaissance. If you're haven't, though, fear not! I've got you covered. Modern Renaissance is an eyeshadow palette, released in 2016, by American cosmetic company Anastasia Beverly Hills. Modern Renaissance is not only one of the best selling products from ABH, but it's also one of the most popular eyeshadow palettes of the past year.

So, naturally, when Anastasia Beverly Hills announced they were releasing a sister palette to Modern Renaissance, the internet went into a frenzy.

Subculture was released June 25th. With the shades being complimentary to the ones on Modern Renaissance and with the ABH eyeshadow formula being one of the most popular and raved about on the market, Subculture was an immediate hit and sold out quickly.

Despite the initial hype, when Subculture started making it to the hands of incognito makeup addicts and coveted Beauty Gurus alike, not all opinions were positive. In fact, it became clear people weren't happy...

the ABH Subculture palette is so fucking powdery

So that was when Reddit user /u/cordis_melum pointed out that Anastasia Beverly Hills had changed the basic formula of their eyeshadows for Subculture, making it significantly different from its sister palette. Instead of Mica, as in the Modern Renaissance palette, the eyeshadows on Subculture have Talc as their main ingredient, which is significantly cheaper and known for producing more powdery eyeshadows. 🤔

The comment section on the Reddit article soon became ablaze, with users trashing Anastasia Beverly Hills for the lack of transparency and the sudden change in formula.

Anastasia Beverly Hills are yet to react to the drama...
