Promising review: "This is great all around. I use this on a twin bed for my toddler and it's perfect. The length is good, it's very sturdy (my son sleeps right up against it and puts a lot of pressure on it most of the night). I love that it folds down very easily so we are able to use the bed as guest bed this holiday without any hassle." —K.K

    4. And a Bearaby Cuddler you can prop up on the side of YOUR bed, letting you snuggle up with something extra comfy as you drift off into dreamland.

model holding the pillow between her arms and legs with extra length behind her back as support
    Bearaby

I have this! I'm loving it as I'm getting through my second trimester, but I got my own Bearaby Cuddler several months ago, before even thinking about having a baby. I specifically wanted it to prop me up in bed when I read, and because I like holding onto a pillow and having one between my knees when I sleep. I also got the cover and am so glad I did! It makes the pillow look luxe so I can keep it on my made bed. I highly recommend getting this!

Get it from Bearaby for $199 (also available with cover).

    5. A light-up constellation doll for little ones who prefers counting stars to counting sheep, who need a little light at night to encourage them to stay in their own room. Your room doesn't have STARS, it's not nearly cool enough for your kids to sneak into!

Promising review: "This is a great addition to any kid's room. Both my kids love having one. The are very durable. We have had one for 10 years and when the twins got their separate rooms another one was a must have. The original is still working great. They are also perfect to help the kiddos travel." —Bob Peal

Get it from Amazon for $41+ (available in four styles).

    6. A grown-up loved Tuft & Needle pillow designed with a complex foam formula that'll be cool, breathable, soft, and supportive while you snooze.

A lifestyle shot of the pillows in an unmade bed
    Tuft & Needle

I have never been able to find a pillow that supported my (always aching) neck, while also being comfortable enough to enjoy sleeping on. Not until I got this. It's squishy, sturdy, and super satisfying. I've had a number of house guests end up buying one of their own after sleeping at my place (and a certain someone, you know who you are, who tried to shove it in her suitcase when I wasn't looking). It's that great.

Promising review: "I was getting terrible sleep when quarantine started and I realized my pillows did not support my neck. I had terrible neck and back pain and then I found this pillow! It’s the perfect amount of support and I sleep so well now! The pillow also stays cool through the night. I love it so much, I purchased another one. I now have two of them and I love it!!" —EvelynP

Get it on sale from Tuft & Needle for $85 (originally $100; available in two sizes).

    7. A meditation box to help your tiny whirlwind feel the benefits of deep breathing. This helps kids meditate to stories about different animals. retro radio style noise machine
    Amazon

Promising review: "This is everything I wanted and more! I never write reviews, but I love this product. It's surprisingly soft, sleek, and aesthetically pleasing. I bought this for my 4.5-year-old daughter for bedtime and also to help her with learning emotional regulation (meditation, music, soothing sounds, etc). I have quickly been able to incorporate the little gadget into a bedtime routine and she loves it! At first I was nervous because the intro is a bit slow and she's four so she doesn't have the best attention span. But after a couple of nights, she's started to patiently wait for the stories. I have her turn off the light after brushing her teeth and going potty, then she snuggles with her dinosaur and gets comfy. Then we start to play a story that she chooses. I have her press the play button and she relaxes and listens. After the short story, she's usually quite tired, and I'll play a bit on the music setting then the sound setting. By then she's fast asleep and I'm super relaxed by the little sounds as well." —Breanne

Get it from Amazon for $79.99+ (available in three styles).

    8. And your own relaxing sleep sound machine that'll help lull you into a deep sleep with white noise, brown noise, and a variety of other soothing, nature-y sounds.

Promising review: "I’ve had my sound machine for almost five months and haven’t gone a night without it. It’s perfect to drown out the sounds of the city and restless pets. I find I no longer wake up in the night and if I do, it’s not for long. It has a timer but I prefer to let it run all night. The white design is sleek and modern and looks great on my nightstand. I’ve already recommended it to friends and they love it too!" —Andrew C.

Get it from Amazon for $29.99 (available in two colors).

    9. A BedJet cooling and warming system so you can control the temperature of your bed, even with the covers on. This is particularly helpful if your toddler is quite the sweaty sleeper...and you *know* they will end up sleeping next to you at some point in the night.

Promising review: "First time I have ever been moved to write a review on Amazon but this is the single most amazing product if you sleep hot! This thing WORKS and it is saving my life! It only took a NASA engineer to solve my propensity to burst into to flames every night at 2 a.m.!" —Matthes

Get it from Amazon for $489+ (available in two designs or just the sheets).

Hatch Sleep, Mallory Mower / BuzzFeed

I replaced my traditional weighted blanket with a Sleep Pod and I am never going back. I appreciated the comfort that I got from a weighted blanket, but it was so hot I wasn't able to last under it for long. This fabric is breathable and so lightweight that I can comfortably use it in the summer and throw it in my tote bag on vacations. I feel calm and comforted every time I get in. I've used it while napping, while trying to calm down before going to bed at night, and while sitting on the sofa and needing some extra stress relief when binge-watching Chernobyl got too stressful. I can't rave enough about this thing, but I'll certainly keep trying!

Promising review: "For a lifelong sufferer of miserable Restless Leg Syndrome, this is nothing short of a miracle! I was skeptical that the pod could help me, since nothing else has ever helped me, but I think since the pod contains my thrashing movements, I’m not waking myself up over and over at night. My dreams are typically very vivid and I usually don’t feel like I had a chance to turn my mind off and disconnect. I think I am getting more REM sleep with the pod because I haven’t remembered my dreams these past four nights. Also, I run hot so it’s a pleasant surprise that the pod truly is breathable and not sweaty." —Jennifer C

Get it from Hatch Sleep for $74.99 (available in three sizes).

    13. A bottle of Frida Baby vapor drops, with organic eucalyptus and lavender essential oils, you can drop in your child's bath or humidifier. This can help relieve congestion if your whole family has been kept awake by your baby's sad, stuffy sniffles.

    Safe for babes 3+ months.

Promising review: "Immediate difference. My 5-month-old was suffering nights of awful congestion/coughing and restlessness. We tried all we could do before getting Breathe Frida and I wished we had it sooner. The first night she woke up only a couple of times in comparison to the ones before. The second night she had no middle-of-the-night wake-ups. Although these drops are not meant for cool-mist humidifiers, we put them in there, just to see how it would work. We will have to get a diffuser or a warm-mist humidifier in order to prevent our cool humidifier from getting damaged." —Angela

Promising review: "My little one was sick with RSV and he needed the humidifier on every night. With just the humidifier on, he didn't seem to be able to breathe any better but I got this vapor and during sleep and naps he started sounding so much better. I could tell it was working and it also made his room smell nice instead of like a sick baby! He got much better much faster than I thought with all the extra things we were doing, and this is one I wouldn't leave out of my 'getting baby better' routine!" —Lindsey

Get it from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in two sizes).

Promising review: "As a mother of six, I have a hard time with nighttime wind down. I put Dream into my diffuser 20 minutes before my kids' bedtime and it not only helped them calm down before bed, but it helped me to not sit awake for hours in bed after getting them to sleep. " —mom of 6

Promising review: "We diffuse this product most nights to help soothe and calm our kids to help them fall asleep faster and we have been really pleased with it! 16. A pack of blackout shades reviewers say are a life-saving cinch to use! They install in 15 minutes flat — just trim, peel, and stick. Your baby's room is about to enter a new time zone. Nap time.

Promising review: "These things are fabulous. Couldn’t be easier to put up and once I trimmed the extra off the bottom, they’re a perfect fit. I put them in the master bedroom behind our nice-looking wood blinds AND in the kids room. Our 7-year-old used to wake up with the sun even with good blinds...she now sleeps through the night and will sleep in later than us! I would pay for these time and time again to get the extra peace and quiet in the morning! Thank you for these inexpensive miracle workers! Parents, do yourself a favor and get these!" —Kate

Promising review: "I love these so much that I just keep buying them. I think I've reviewed them like five times already but whatever. They are that awesome. If you are renting a home, traveling in hotels/at family's house, moving to a new house, or just have kids — these are LIFE. I've used them for years under my kids' curtains since they were babies because they truly are blackout. We are military and move A LOT and the first thing I do is buy these before our trip because it's not always possible to hang curtains right away. They are literally just paper, they come extra wide so you can cut them with scissors to fit your window and they are peel-and-stick. Too easy." —esskay

So I got this just to see if it would work. And oh did it work! I put it under her crib mattress and not only did she NOT cry when I left the room, but she fell asleep in five minutes. No paci either!" —Lauren

    reviewer's clock on bookshelf
the clock with three different light settings and words showing what means sleep, play, and wake

Promising review: "This was a lifesaver!!! My 4-year-old was getting up at 5:30 :( and we could not convince him to go back to bed. We found this clock and we're amazed at the results. My son loves it! He gets so excited when it turns green and he can get out of bed, or when he wakes up and it is green. It seems to have helped train him to sleep in longer. It is easy to set up. Our only complaint is the light from the indicator (red, yellow, green) is soooo bright. We tip the clock on its face so his room does not light up. He can still see the color, so it's fine. But I do wish we could dim it. Don't let this stop you from getting it though, it was worth every penny!" —JW

Read more about melatonin for sleep on Johns Hopkins

Promising review: "I’ll be buying these again. In terms of efficacy, I get a better night's rest without feelings of grogginess in the morning. Keep in mind that melatonin isn’t a tranquilizer. You shouldn’t take melatonin with the expectation of it working like an Ambien. This isn’t a hypnotic drug, it’s a synthetic version of a naturally occurring sleep hormone. Melatonin won’t knock you out, but it certainly helps me achieve a deeper, more restful sleep. Taking Melatonin, I experience increased dreaming and the dreams are unusually vivid and lifelike. Pretty cool! I feel like this is a good value. The strawberry flavor is pleasant as well. This is hands down the best of the various brands I’ve tried. I'm very happy with this purchase." —Courtney Cameron
