5 Euphoria Conspiracy Theories You're Not Crazy For Believing

This is for the Editorial Fellowship: With fans still reeling about the Season 2 finale of HBO's Euphoria, there are still multiple unanswered questions that are driving us crazy. Although Euphoria hasn't given us all the answers for the end of Season 2, these 5 fan theories will provide a possible plot line for Season 3, which appears in 2024.

1. Laurie will be back for her money

This is for the Editorial Fellowship: During the final episodes of Season 2, fans were on the edge of their seats waiting to see how Rue would pay Laurie back for the missing drugs. In previous episodes, Laurie alluded to ALWAYS getting her money back, not matter what it took. This became evident when she injected Rue with morphine and Rue had to escape from her guarded house. Once Rue left, we don't hear from Laurie again. This leads us to the question, did Laurie get her money? We are unsure of the amount of time Rue spent at Laurie's house as there were multiple bruises on her arm from being injected many times with morphine. Did Rue pay her debt? If so, what did Laurie do to her? As these questions have been left unanswered, this makes fans believe that Laurie will be back for her money.

2. Ashtray isn't dead

Our hearts were broken in the final scenes of the finale when Ashtray takes part in a shootout with the police. Ashtray was eventually killed by the police after murdering an FBI agent. While many are fairly certain that Ashtray is dead, his death occurred off-screen. We never see Ashtray's body, only Fez being taken away in handcuffs. This leads fans to other theories, such as Ashtray still being alive. Many also think that with Ashtray alive, Fez will still be taking the fall for Ashtray and going to jail. Although Fez will probably be in jail either way, Ashtray being alive will change how long he stays in jail.

3. Rue has been dead since Season 1

Hear us out. In Season 1, the final scene shows Rue overdosing. Not only is Rue shown dancing with her dead father, but there have also been multiple scene with her at her own funeral. Has Rue died and she is just telling her story of how she overdosed? This theory would make sense as there is no further talk of college or their future plans. They have also been in high school for a long time without indication of what grade they are in. Is Rue just retelling her past memories before she died? Looking further into it, there are many clues that Rue has died. In Episode 4, the iconic montage of Rue and Jules' love life shows the actors reenacting famous romantic movies. Within each reenactment, Rue plays a character who eventually dies. Rue and Jules reenact The Titanic, where Jules is playing Rose, who survives, and Rue is playing Jack, who eventually dies.

4. Ashtray is Nate's Brother

While Euphoria dives deeper into Fez and Ashtray's upbringing, Ashtray's parents are still unaccounted for. All we know is that Ashtray arrives at Fez's house as an infant, and there are no other questions asked. What makes fans believe that Ashtray is related to Nate is because Nate has a third brother that hasn't been mentioned. We know this after Episode 4 when we see a family picture of the Jacobs family. There are three brothers, one brother looking similar to Ashtray as an infant. Where did the third brother go? Is it Ashtray?

5. Faye is an Undercover Cop

Euphoria dives deep into each character's history. We know about the past of every reoccurring character, except Faye. As she is becoming more and more a part of the series, it makes us question, who is she? Faye tries to protect Fez when her boyfriend tries to pin Mouse's murder on Fez in the finale. However, she has asked multiple questions in relation to Mouse's murder which is damning evidence against the brothers. The truth is, we don't know much about Faye even though she is a prevalent character. Many viewers also believe that she will save Fez from jail time. Maybe she is a cop with a soft spot for Fez, maybe she is just helping a friend out. Either way, there is more to Faye than is led on.
