SONGWRITING 101: WRITING A NEW CHRISTMAS SONG! CAN I DO IT BY CHRISTMAS? Every commercial musician eventually writes a Christmas song: Nsync, Mariah Carrey , Christina Aguilera, Brittney Spears. Basically, everyone in the Mickey Mouse Club and every commercial artist ends up writing a Christmas record because it's good for the sale of Records. Well, we don't buy CD's or records or tapes anymore, we just stream music for free, which is really why it's so hard for artists to make a living these days. Anyways, I am giving myself a challenge to write a Christmas song before Christmas. Here is a rough improvisational start on the piano. The piano melody is lovely, but the vocals and lyrics need work still. Let's do it. If you have any great lyric ideas leave them in the comments down below!
