Ode To Sweatpants
We will never deny the comfort or warmth a good pair of sweet pants can offer. Sweatpants are a nice commodity to own whether we want to just snuggle up on the couch, or hit up the gym. One of the sexiest images is probably an athletic woman in a tight tank and loose sweats that are hung just low enough to reveal the flesh of her hips. The cotton fabric can cling to a woman’s buttocks just right revealing a vivacious body, yummy!
Yes, we will never deny that sweat pants can be alluring and dangerously tempting because of how easy they are to pull off of our lovers bodies, but most of the time they are seen in the public sphere they are not sexy at all. In fact most of the time sweat pants show up in public it’s rather ugly sight. People with misshapen bodies, walk around in their old and dirty misshapen sweatpants and it’s the farthest thing from attractive. It sends our vomit bells off when slobs and flat-out lazy people are abusing sweatpants. To wear sweat pants or not is your choice, but we strongly recommend you take your environment into consideration before showing up in a pair.
Now before you decide that we are being mean, listen to what we are saying, when sweat pants are being worn by some large man or woman, and their belly pouch is glorified with a jelly stain to highlight it more, and there rolls are breaking out of their elastic bands, sweat pants are being abused. Sweat Pants weren’t designed to allow us to explode into obesity. They should never be worn at church or at the office. If the goal is concealing our weight and looking slimmer and more presentable in the public, there are better choices to make then sweat pants. The thing about wearing lose fabric is though it is comfortable it doesn’t restrict and allows everything to hangout. Jeans restrict, black is slimming and these are much better choices to make. A large man looks a lot more attractive in a suit, and a bigger woman should know a dress is her best friend.
On the same note, when some kid shows up to college or work, looking like they just rolled out of bed another line in the fashion world has been crossed. College students should dress for success just like young professionals, because that’s what they are. College is the foundation for our adult lives, letters of recommendation become important as we advance, and showing up to class in sweatpants shows a lack of respect for the academic environment one is in. At the end of the day it’s not about making a fashion statement, it’s about representing ourselves in the best light possible to the public.
They say we shouldn’t judge a book by the cover, but the reality is we decided to buy the book or leave it in the bin based on the cover. People will judge us in the same manner. What we wear isn’t about fashion. We don’t think we have to wear the most expensive clothes, latest trends, and know who Allegra Versace is to look good, but we do think looking good shows a certain amount of dignity and self-respect. Sweat pants are a privilege to wear not a right. The right to wear them should be earned either by slipping them on to get comfortable after a long day of work or deciding to work on our health by going to the gym. Sweat pants are like a glass of wine, something we should use to unwind from a hard day, but not a device we should use to begin our day because that shows a certain amount of apathy.
