Promising review: “These work great! All you do is shake them to heat them up, and they are so nice to warm your hands. I put them in my gloves when I am skiing, and they don’t feel too bulky! I wish they stayed warmer for a little bit longer.” —Target reviewer

Promising review: “Excellent lotion especially for cold, dry Chicago winters and naturally dry, sensitive skin. I purchase four each winter to get me through. It has a Vaseline-like consistency initially but disappears quickly. Don’t use too much at a time — a small amount goes a long way. I’ve been using this lotion for probably about a decade. I LOVE it!” —Target reviewer

Promising review: “This is an absolutely amazing mask! I recently moved [and I’m] suffering from dry cracked hands which I’ve never experienced before. I had tried everything from lotions to different masks. I decided to give it one more go and try this brand, and I love it so much, I bought more! One of the best hand masks on the market by far! Totally surprised and very impressed.” —Amanda

Promising review: “This frost guard is great! It was easy to put on and take off. It fits our Fusion almost perfectly side to side and great from top to bottom. We received just in time for our latest winter storm and it worked great! The storm consisted of ice and snow mix followed by single-digit temps. Would definitely recommend this!” —Target reviewer

True story: A few winters back, I was having major dry-skin issues — no matter how much I moisturized with my regular day cream, my face felt constantly itchy and tight. But once I started adding a few drops of this infinitely affordable serum to my skincare routine? The problem cleared up immediately. It’s been a part of my routine — morning and night — ever since, but especially during the winter. For me, it is truly a miracle worker.
Promising review: “My skin loves it! The Ordinary’s got some great products and this is one of them! I use about two to three drops on my face and it's tacky at first. I then put on The Ordinary's HA moisturizer and let it sit for about 5–10 min before applying makeup. If you don't let it soak in or use too much product, I do find it pills. I also use about four to five drops on my wet hair and it really helps it look healthy! It works, has minimal ingredients, and is a great price point. I love this stuff!” —AngieNYC

Promising review: “We love this one! We've gone through several humidifiers and none have been quite as awesome as this one. It puts out an amazing amount of mist. I haven't had the pooling issue that others have and the light, while bright, seems to be more along the lines of a night-light. If you're on the fence about this, I highly suggest you order it!” —Target reviewer

Promising review: “Loved this stuff! Couldn’t find my usual anywhere, so I opted to try something new. I had cracks on my lips and in the corners of my mouth, so I needed something quick — it was really painful to even open my mouth. I needed relief! Put this on during the day right when I got it and before bed. The next day all the cracks were gone. This stuff is good! Would recommend.” —Target reviewer

Promising review: “So comfortable! I’ve had sweater tights in the past and have found them to be a little bulky. These are definitely thinner without compromising the quality. Such a pretty color and print, too. Definitely worth the price!” —Target reviewer

Speaking as someone who grew up in a region with snowy winters where it was very, very common for the power to get knocked out during storms, I can attest that this is an item you’ll definitely want to keep in your cold weather tool kit. Heck, even though I live in a region with less volatile weather now, I’ve still got a lantern like this one on hand — and it’s come in handy more times than I can count, snow or no.
Promising review: “Highly recommended for emergencies. Definitely bright. Suffered through the Texas winter storm to make us realize we needed items like this. Can use year-round for events like camping, too.” —Customer

Promising review: “These are awesome! So soft on the inside and they work well with my phone. I have small hands and the ‘one size’ fits me well. Not a lot of stretch; I don’t know if they’d fit larger hands.” —Target reviewer

Promising review: “Awesome travel mug. Fits in most cup holders. I like that you need to push the button to take a sip. Super helpful while chasing my toddler around with a high chance of getting it knocked over multiple times. Keeps my coffee hot all morning, too.” —Kellyn

Promising review: “Bought this when my furnace died and the repair date was one entire week. I had my doubts about this little heater being enough to heat up the area where I stayed during the day, and then my bedroom at night. It only took a few minutes to set up, and the little fan worked hard and moved the warm air around the entire room. Lightweight, so it was easy to put just where I wanted it. It did a fine job and is easy to use!” —Tar Heel Gal

Promising review: “So soft. So warm. They don’t slide down. Came back and ordered two more pairs. Obsessed with these socks.” —Target reviewer

Promising review: “Hair up and ears warmed! If you wear your hair up high, you need this in the winter!!! Perfect for a top bun or pony. It's thick and durable, yet stretchy and comfortable. Stays in place without sliding around. The black is more of a dark gray. I got the matching gloves as well, and they are just as nice! Perfect set!” —mb

Promising review: “I bought this for my husband — he's always complaining about having cold feet. Well, no longer do I hear the complaints. He says that it gets warm or hot as he wants it, and he is able to fit his size-13 feet on the pad. He is very happy with Toasty Toes — and me too!” —Terri

Promising review: “I rarely give anything 5 stars, but my husband and I are very happy with this electric blanket. It heats up quickly and evenly and the fabric holds the heat well even after you turn it off. The fleecy underside hides the wires so that you don't feel them. The gray color is even nicer than it looks in the photo. The controllers have lighted buttons so that you can easily make adjustments in the dark. We have a Cal king [and] memory foam mattress, and the king-size blanket provides adequate coverage. This is our first purchase of this brand, but in our experience, electric blankets tend to stop working after a few seasons, so we have yet to see how this one will hold up. That being said, it's been great so far.” —pigeon

Promising review: “You want this blanket. It’s like a warm, heavy hug. It’s like when you finally get into bed when you’re so tired you don’t even think you can get up from the couch. It’s like a friend coming over when you’re feeling super anxious and validating everything you’re saying and also telling you that you’re gorgeous and they’re gonna take care of your problems so just chill for a bit. PS: It’s really hard to get that outside layer back on if you take it off, so just beware.” —Target reviewer

Promising review: “Exactly what I have been searching for! These leggings are freaking amazing! They are super thick with a silky faux-fur lining. I wore them outside for several hours while my kids played in the snow and the cold only barely started to seep in by the end of our time. Worn inside, they do NOT make you overheat — which is a huge plus in my book. (I hate having to change just to take the kids out for a bit only to have to change again once back inside.) The only downside I have noticed is that they do snag fairly easily, so be really careful with rings, fingernails, etc. I wash these in a large lingerie/sweater bag on cold with my regular dark wash and even dry them in the dryer and they still look like new! I already have them in both black and charcoal — I would love to see a few more neutralish colors like navy or a deep wine color.” —RL
Price: $18 (available in sizes S/M and L/XL and in two colors)
Promising review: “Just used this for first time and love it!!! I have a straight snow shovel and a rolling snow pusher shovel, and this is my favorite. It is easy on the back, and if you are wearing gloves, your hand on the shaft will let the shovel spin when you throw the snow to the side, saving your back better than with a shovel with a second stationary handle. The edge is perfect for light ice. I haven’t used it in heavy ice but I don’t think it’s really made to chip heavy ice. I used it to shovel my walk, then as a pusher for my driveway. … I used WD40 to clean off the sticker and wiped down the shovel with it, and nothing — not snow or ice — stuck to it. In conclusion: easy to shovel, easy to push, easy to throw snow.” —Buckaroo

Promising review: “This basket is sturdy, attractive, and functional. I bought a few to store accessories in my bedroom, but I liked them so much I bought a few more for organizing a closet. Though it’s a shame to keep them behind a closed door, it’s satisfying to see them neatly lined up concealing the many items they contain. I may even come back for more! I bought them on sale, but the full price isn’t bad for the size and quality of the basket.” —jmctargetshopper

Y’all, Mysterium is one of my favorite board games, and I can think of nothing else to spend tons of times doing when stuck at home. It sees one person taking on the role of the “ghost,” while the rest of the players become the detectives trying to determine exactly how the ghost died. The “ghost” sends visions to the detectives in the form of stunningly surreal pieces of artwork; the goal is to suss out the crime before the clock strikes midnight. It is terrific, and perfect for a cold, snowy evening — especially if the power goes out. Spooky!
Promising review: “We love this game! Myself, my husband, and our 9-year-old daughter have played it many times over the last year. The rules are long and very detailed. Set aside some time for the ‘ghost’ to read the rules thoroughly the first time. Once you've played, it's pretty simple though. It's really challenging and a lot of fun to both provide and interpret the clues. We all take turns being the ghost, which really varies the gameplay, because it's all subjective. Because of this, you can get infinite plays out of the game. … This is one of our family's most favorite games!” —dani24
