We Need To Talk About What The Fuck Happened To Generation Y

    Because we're not all just "millennials" now.

    Like lots of people out there, I was born in 1985 — that makes me 30 years old.

    My high school experience looked like this:

    And this:

    And THIS:

    Being born during the 1980s and early 1990s, we were told we were "Generation Y."

    We called ourselves "Generation Y" and identified with key aspects of it – like being tech nerds.

    When OUT OF NOWHERE, someone decided to lump us together with Gen X and Z and call us ALL MILLENNIALS???

    I'm sorry, but no. You can't just take away a whole group of people's collective identities a decade after the fact. We're not Generation X:

    We're NOT Generation Z.

    And we're certainly not all "millennials."

    We are Generation Y and WE WANT OUR IDENTITY BACK!
