Today I am going to share with you how I reduce my ecological footprint. I am not fully green but I try to get as close to as possible. Here is what I do: (in no particular order)
* I am completely make-up free. Not a day passes that you will see in public sporting make up. I own makeup but it is just sitting there in my cupboard, not going to throw it out though, because I do dress up for just weddings and funerals.
*I don't curl or straighten my hair as it is already straight and thus no fancy hair products.
* instead of buying chapsticks for lips, I make my own lipcare by adding honey and sugar. its tastier and won't bother me when I am eating. This can last me a whole year or more
* I buy large shampoo and shower gel bottles from the reject shop. one shampoo bottle 750ml can last me a whole year and 500ml of shower gel for 6 months. That is a lot of saving over a lifetime
*I don't buy clothing unless it is under $15, best to get basic tees for $5 and jeans for around $10
* I don't accept plastic bags ever, always place shopping (hard items) in backpack or cloth bags you can very easily get at any open day
*Plan for the whole where I can get quality produce at an affordable price and how much of a food item do I really eat
* I always rely on clothes, turn off heaters and only rely on fans in extreme heat. Keep blinds closed all summer
These are easy no-brainer ways to really lower your bills and lead a more simple life and save space at home.
