10 Questions About "The Batman" From A Non-Batman Fan

I watched "The Batman" this weekend, despite not knowing anything about the story. Here's an honest review! This is for the Editorial Fellowship.

    1. Gotham City is Really Dark

I get that it's a metaphor for the state of the city, but I can barely see sh*t on the screen! Can we get a couple of lamp posts?

    2. Catwoman is a Lesbian... Right?

There's no way she was actually into Batman, right? She was a lesbian...?

    3. The Riddler

I actually really enjoyed the storyline that the Riddler had! It was really rich with metaphors for the current state of America that were really heavy yet easy to follow. There were also twists in his motivation that I was genuinely surprised by! But... how did he get all those supplies... if he's an orphan?

    4. Batman's Background

Are we not supposed to get any backstory on Batman in this movie? It's interesting to jump right into a story about a vigilante without any backstory or understanding of how he came to be that person/figure.

    5. How Do People not Know it's Bruce?

He's barely hiding his face? His voice is the same? He is so prominently known in the community?

    6. Where did the cats go?

Where did Catwoman's cats go? Are they safe? Did they all somehow fit on her motorcycle?

    7. Why Was the City Built in such a Flood-able Area?

I don't know anything about engineering, but I feel like we could've made better defenses against a massive flood when building a water-locked city.

    8. What Technology do they Have?

It seems like there is some extensive technology, such as Batman's contact lenses, but the police don't seem to be able to track the Riddler's location based on his internet broadcasts...?

    9. HOW MANY PEOPLE DIED?

The chase scene ALONE was more than any Marvel movie has ever shown as far as civilians just getting absolutely obliterated. How were there no repercussions to Batman or to Penguin?

    10. Why Was it 3 Hours Long?

I think this movie could've easily been 2 hours max. Why did it keep going?!
