The Maasai
This is a tribe found mostly in Kenya and also inside Tanzania, all in Africa. In the 60’s, they were known to make their clothing from the skins of animals dyed into different colors, most especially with red.
Nowadays, with the rapid change in the way we see things, Maasai like to wear clothes with colorful patterns and styles. One of the most common clothes among the Maasai is the Kanga. Both men and women put on colorful flowery clothes, funny right? Even men!
Putting on beads is also a common style of daily dressing among the Maasai people in Kenya. Before the advent of beads, stones, clay and bone were mostly used.
Also, both men and women prefer their hair shaved which is a very common hairstyle around there.
The Sami
The Sami are commonly found among some places in Europe, most especially in Norway, Sweden and also in Finland. They are popularly known for their beautifully colored and mind-boggling patterns of clothes. This clothing is called Gatki. In the past, it used to be made of the reindeer leather, but nowadays it can be made of wool. It is usually worn with jewelry depending on their particular region.
Bhutan
This is some place in China commonly known to put on traditional robes as their daily wear. If you have seen traditional Chinese movies, you would definitely know what I am saying. Both men and women, young and old put on this attire. For women, it is called Kira. Sometimes it could be in form of a silk-like scarf tied around the body. For the men, it is called Gho and it is worn by men who work for the government and schools.
India
India is a country in Asia with a lot of cultures and beliefs. This also reflects in their dressing. Normally, women in India are known to wear robes or clothes that cover their body entirely such as Sari and so on. Some men tie scarfs around their heads from a very small age which indicates something they believe- Punjabi. They also make use of beads and jewelry. India is definitely a place to visit because they have a lot of cultural stuffs and beliefs that would amaze you.
Fashion and Profession
Fashion also cut across different professions. Doctors, bankers, lawyer, accountant and any other clerical worker would require a corporate dressing- a suit or blazer, wristwatch and shoe, to work. A construction worker or a footballer can’t put on a suit to work. It would be silly.
Fashion is definitely a core topic that cuts across every aspect of life. The way you dress can tell who you’re.
