Tangerine Whiskey Sour

INGREDIENTS:

Rim

Halved tangerine

¼ cup sugar

Simple Syrup

½ cup water

½ cup sugar

Cocktail

3 tangerines, quartered

1 ounce lemon juice

3 ounces whiskey

1 ounce simple syrup

Spherical ice cubes

Tangerine slices, for garnish

Preparation:

1.Rim: Rub the cut side of the tangerine around the rim of a rocks glass to moisten. Place sugar on a small plate. Dip rim in sugar to coat evenly. Repeat with a second rocks glass.

2.Simple syrup: Combine water and sugar in a small pot over medium heat. Bring to a simmer. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.

3.Cocktail: Place half of the quartered tangerines in a pint glass. Begin to muddle and crush out the juice. Add the rest of the quartered tangerines and continue to muddle until all the juice has been extracted.

4.Pour tangerine juice into a cocktail shaker. Add lemon juice, whiskey, simple syrup, and a handful of crushed ice. Shake well.

5.Place a spherical ice cube in each of the prepared glasses. Strain cocktail into each glass, dividing evenly. Garnish with a slice of tangerine in each.
