I Tried 10 Drinks From LCBO’s Summer Hot List And Let’s Just Say I’m Summer Ready

I'm Isabella and I'm so excited to formally announce that our long-awaited summer has ARRIVED! *Cue applause*.

This can only mean one thing: It is time for me to hit up my local LCBO and make my way through their Summer Hot List to figure out what I'll be sippin' on all season long. There's something for everyone and here are my very scientific findings:

1. Vizzy Strawberry Lemonade is perfect for lemonade enthusiasts.

Lemonade is my favourite summer beverage. Name a better drink. You CAN'T! Unless your lemonade is remixed into a delicious strawberry hard seltzer (thanks Vizzy!). It's delicious and crisp. I just know this is gonna be tagging along on all my summer adventures. 

2. But don't forget Blackberry Lemon!

If you're anything like me, you absolutely love summer...but also love complaining about how hot it is. If I'm gonna be sweaty, I will be talking about it. Know THAT. So what I loved about this Blackberry Lemon flavour of Vizzy was that it was extra refreshing. This sparkling hard seltzer with hints of juicy blackberry and lemon is definitely the perfect drink to enjoy in your backyard! 

3. Bacardi Tropical Rum will get you into the beach mood no matter where you are.

You can do a lot with this tropical mix of pineapple, coconut, and guava. I added soda water and a splash of OJ, and was physically, emotionally, and mentally zooted from my backyard to a gorgeous, tropical island in an instant. One word for Bacardi Tropical? SUNNY!

4. Smirnoff Vodka Soda Berry Blast is the drink if your favourite flavour is "blue."

The first thing I loved about this drink? It matched my outdoor furniture. The second thing I loved about this drink? It's essentially blue slushy in liquid form, which is an iconic and nostalgic summer flavour IMO. With flavours of citrus, cherry, and blue raspberry, I was expecting the drink to be blue itself. Either way, would sip this while running through a sprinkler.

5. Smirnoff Peach Lemonade is an extra sunny drink for sunny days.

Okay, sorry that I'm still on the lemonade train! It's summer, okay! What do you want from ME? Ice your friends (or yourself) with Smirnoff Ice Peach Lemonade in a can or you can grab the mix and make your own summery cocktail. It's sweet and tastes like a juicy summer peach... What else do you need in a summer bev?

6. But wait...there's also Smirnoff Ice Pink Lemonade!

Now dear reader, you might be wondering...why didn't Isabella take a picture of her Smirnoff Ice Pink Lemonade? Well, it's because I was too distracted by drinking it (by this point you know how I feel about lemonade). A delicious new cooler perfect for backyard barbecues, it mixes the flavours of lemon and red berries to absolute perfection.

7. Snapple Spiked Peach Tea Vodka makes for a great cooler addition.

So visualize this: You're lounging on your deck. The sun is shining. There's not one cloud in the sky. Your summer playlist is absolutely bumping. You reach for your drink and it's a cold can of Snapple Spiked Peach Tea. You sip it with tears in your eyes. "Ahhh", you say out loud to absolutely no one. Peach and iced tea? Life is good. 

8. If you want to impress guests, Baileys Colada is a must-have at your next summer party.

Now, I am no bartender (you can probably tell by my affinity for a canned cocktail) but Baileys Colada makes it suuuuper easy to be one! It took me approximately 0.01 seconds to mix Baileys Colada with some soda water (topped with some whipped cream of course) for a piña colada float that tasted absolutely incredible TBH.

9. But if you want a piña colada on the go, Black Fly Rum Pina Colada will have you feeling beach ready.

Hot tip (or...cold tip?): Freeze the drink to turn it into slush RIGHT in the bottle. It'll be such a treat to pull one of these out of your cooler bags or freezers and it's a gorgeous little slushy. No blender required. With real tastes of rum, coconut juice, and pineapple, you'll be wondering why you didn't try it sooner. 

10. High Noon Grapefruit is perfect for sipping on during the daytime or evening.

I'm always looking for new hard seltzers to try and this one from High Noon might be my new favourite. I can definitely see myself sipping on this by the lakeside when I go up north to the cottage later this summer. Super fizzy and citrusy, this is my new go-to.
