Big Brother: Celebrity Edition - Cast Reveal & Who's Who?

Seriously, who are these people?

Posted on

After 19 seasons of Big Brother, CBS has finally announced the names of the eleven celebrities playing for the $250K grand prize!

During the telecast of the 60th Grammy Awards on CBS, you may or may not have noticed a couple of commercials showing some famous (and not-as-famous) faces. These eleven lucky celebrities are going to be participating in the first ever (American) version of Celebrity Big Brother! Below, you can read a little about each contestant, and for more information, head over to the official Celebrity Big Brother website.

Ariadna GutiƩrrez

CBS / Via

If you're like most people, you probably have no idea who this is. Perhaps, the Miss Universe pageant in 2015 might jog your memory? That's right, she's that girl who Steve Harvey mistakenly crowned Miss Universe, when in fact she was the runner up. Three years after that horrible blunder, she's back and ready to play Big Brother (even though she definitely has never seen the show before).

Brandi Glanville

That's right, you can't have a reality show without a Real Housewife (of Beverly Hills). Brandi is best known for being very outspoken about her opinions, which may end up biting her in the back in the Big Brother house.

Chuck Liddell

CBS / Via

Chuck seems to be a UFC fighter with a heart of gold. He's very uncompromising in his morals, which is not exactly ideal for a great Big Brother player. (Also, he cited Paul Abrahamian (one of the most manipulative and disliked players ever) as one of his favorite past houseguests, so he's all over the place.)

James Maslow

CBS / Via

Oh Oh Ohhhh Ohhhhh. That's right, it's James from Big Time Rush. Most girls who grew up in the 2000s were probably in love with one of the members of BTR (I was a Carlos girl, myself), so he might be the most relevant "celeb" for the younger viewers. While Chuck said Paul was one of his favorite past houseguests, James went the complete opposite end of the spectrum and picked Dr. Will, potentially the greatest game player of all time. Let's see if James is able to make it big time and win it all!

Keshia Knight Pulliam

CBS / Via

Keshia is most widely known for her portrayal of Rudy Huxtable on The Cosby Show back in the 80s and 90s. She says she's going to be very observant, which is great, but can also ruin your game if people start to suspect you of being too observant. Hopefully her acting background will help her convince the other house guests to overlook her so she can slide under the radar.

Marissa Jaret Winokur

CBS / Via

Good Morning Baltimore! Tracy Turnblad from the original run of the Broadway show Hairspray is about to dance her way into the house. She is a self-proclaimed BB superfan and is rooting for girl power to prevail in the house this year. She's going in with the strategy of playing a social game, while teaming up with players who she thinks will do better in the athletic challenges. If anything, she'd be sure to beat the other house guests in a dance battle, because we all know that You Can't Stop The Beat!

Mark McGrath

CBS / Via

Heeeeee just wants to fly! Known as the lead singer for the band Sugar Ray, Mark has prepared for living in the house by touring the country in a tour bus for 25 years. He says he's going to come in hot since this is a more accelerated version of the game, but coming in hot is never the way to go, if BB history means anything.

Metta World Peace

CBS / Via

Ron Artest is probably the most widely known athlete in the house, and his athleticism may just be his downfall. Great athletic players are usually targeted by the others since they're more likely to win physical competitions. We'll just have to see how much he incorporates his athleticism into his gameplay.

Omarosa Manigault

CBS / Via

Yep, you heard right. Omarosa is BACK from her short stint at the White House to enter the BB house. While most people root against her all the time, a lot of people are rooting for her to be the main source of drama in the house. It's not a season of Big Brother without someone causing a house-wide fight, usually resulting in some pretty tough grudges. I don't know about you, but a screaming match between Omarosa and Brandi is something I would pay an exorbitant amount of money to witness.

Ross Matthews

CBS / Via

Ross is going to be one to watch, for me anyway. He says his favorite past house guest was Janelle (the competition BEAST), is a huge superfan, and has even interviewed evictees in the past. He really knows the game well and is going to try to be the puppet master (good luck, with all these inflated egos).

Shannon Elizabeth

CBS / Via

The final houseguest this season is Shannon Elizabeth. When naming her favorite past houseguests, she happened to name my favorite player of all time, Dan Gheesling, so she has automatically shot to the top of my list. She's planning on using her acting chops to help her be a more deceitful backstabber than she is in reality, which will hopefully work to her advantage.

That's it!

Be sure to tune into Big Brother: Celebrity Edition on Wednesday, February 7 at 8/7c on CBS to see all these celebrities thrown into a house with no access to the outside world. It's gonna be a wild ride to say the least.
