I think our natural reaction for heartbreak is “fight or flight” mode. We either cling onto it really tightly or we run away as fast as possible to escape the pain. I think the best way is to ease out of it slowly and try remaining as calm as possible. Being impulsive will feel good at first, but it hurts you in the long-run.
It’s really sad because the way our society is designed it’s practically impossible to stay fit. Being health conscious is basically socially unacceptable because food has become such a social thing. It’s ridiculous how much peer pressure there is into living a sedentary, gluttonous lifestyle just like everyone else. You can’t even stay hydrated because school and work limits your ability to take frequent bathroom breaks. Plus the modern world is full of so many tiny little bullshit stressors that we’re too drained to change our diets and work out. Our ancestors never had to worry about deadlines or keeping up with emails or getting to places on time or getting enough sleep. But blaming society will get you nowhere. It’s hard, but it’s possible to get your health back. Instead of waiting for society to make being fit easier, be brave and stand up for your health, even though there is so much pressure not to.
