6. Grans comes back from the dead

In Season 1 Lorelai "Trix" is talked about as if she is dead. Then Trix actually turns up 15 episodes later, alive and well and driving Emily crazy. In season 4 she really dies but makes a recurring visit at her wake where her actor plays Marilyn Gilmore
