Remember the song "Gary Come Home" from the episode of SpongeBob called "Have You Seen This Snail," in which Gary runs away? Take a listen if you need a refresher.

Have you ever noticed that it sounds similar to the famous song by The Beatles, "A Day In the Life"? The first thing I thought when I heard this song was how similar it sounded to "Gary Come Home" (I grew up on SpongeBob). See for yourself (note: the main similarity is drawn from the beginning and middle of the song, before it gets trippy).

Could the SpongeBob creator have somehow been inspired by "A Day In The Life" when he wrote "Gary Come Home"? Possibly. Upon further research though, according to a blog post on www.songfacts.com, "Gary Come Home" was actually inspired by Paul McCartney's song, "My Brave Face." Either way, it's freaky how similar "Gary Come Home" and "A Day In The Life" sound, and even freakier that "Gary Come Home" was actually allegedly inspired by a song by none other than, Paul McCartney. Listen to "My Brave Face" here (note: the song starts at 0:26). However, personally, I think this inspiration is drawn from the lyrics, not from the tune. Sorry www.songfacts.com, but I still think "Gary Come Home," specifically it's tune, is inspired by "A Day In The Life."
