    Over the last decades, the documentary has had a bit of a renaissance.

    One of my favorite genres of docs is the showbiz documentary.

    People would say, "show business doesn't matter", but it and the art that was made is an important chunk of our history and our lives, and we should learn the stories behind all of that art.

    Here are some of the best.

    20 Feet from Stardom

    You know backup singers? They're artists, too. And this documentary shows how much work goes into it and how little recognition they get.

    The Wrecking Crew

    Oh, back when artists used real instruments. And this particular band of musicians played for legendary artist's albums, like The Mamas & The Papas, Simon & Garfunkel, and The Beach Boys.

    The Super Bob Einstein Movie

    A documentary about the legendary comedian Bob Einstein, probably best known to modern audiences as Marty Funkhauser. But, some of his best work was in The Super Dave Osbourne Show, as stuntman Super Dave Osbourne.
