If you aren't familiar with MNEK and Zara Larsson yet, you will be soon.
Individually, they are two of pop's most exciting new voices: MNEK is a 20-year-old multi-hyphenate who has written and produced for the likes of Little Mix and Madonna, while Zara Larsson is a Scandinavian chart-topper angling for international superstardom. Recently, the pop wunderkinds teamed up for "Never Forget You," a tearjerking club anthem that proves two voices are often better than one.
In honor of their successful collaboration, BuzzFeed Music asked the singers to share their all-time favorite duets.
1. George Michael and Aretha Franklin, "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)"
MNEK says: "George Michael and Hate-Retha slaying this chooooooooon. Opposites attracting in the best way possible. I just love the power and the sass of this song. It's a winner!"
2. Beyoncé and Shakira, "Beautiful Liar"
Zara says: "I just love the vibe of this song! And of course the two strong, cool, independent women! I never realized they look a lot alike. Their equally beautiful. I think the lyrics are very strong and beautiful as well, they are two women who got cheated by the same guy and instead of going against each other they team up and forget about the guy. "
3. Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, "When You Believe"
MNEK says: "I loved Mariah but my mum loved Whitney. I love this duet as it just showcases two powerhouse divas in their element and sounding great in it too! Yes, please."
4. The Weeknd and Ed Sheeran, "Dark Times"
Zara says: "The guitars, their voices, the lyrics, the whole production. What's not to love? They both have super strong voices and it's so cool that they got together for this pretty unexpected duet. I went to see The Weeknd's show in Norway just the other day and he was fantastic. I haven't seen Ed live yet but I'm really looking forward to."
5. David Grant and Jaki Graham, "Mated"
MNEK says: "A bit of a dark horse this one. Not many people my age know this one but I love it. I just love the melodies and the lyric of the song. It's so well written."
6. Jay Z and Alicia Keys, "Empire State Of Mind"
Zara says: "One that will always be awesome! Mo matter when or where in the world everyone will sing along! It's funny everyone loves New York when you listen to that song even if you haven't even been there. It's cool to see that both Alicia and Jay Z are so influenced by the city (and NY is actually my favorite city in the world!)"
7. Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle, "A Whole New World"
MNEK says: "Peabo Bryson was the king of the '90s pop duet and Regina Belle's vocal on this was immaculate! Disney ebony slay realness. Until Peter Andre and Katie Price tried to do a cover of it."
8. Rihanna and Ne-Yo, "Hate That I Love You"
Zara says: "I'm a real cornball so of course I love this song."
9. Brandy and Monica, "The Boy Is Mine"
MNEK says: "Darkchild is a G for this one. Such a great song with two great voices in what turned out to be iconic. There's been nothing like it since!"
10. Nelly and Kelly Rowland, "Dilemma"
Zara says: "Mmm, one of those amazing old R&B songs that never go out of style! I feel I want to do a song like that, even if it's 2015! Such a classic."
11. Eve and Gwen Stefani, "Let Me Blow Ya Mind"
MNEK says: "Whenever this drops in the club, it's a wrap. Dr Dre on the production too! This song is a prime example of two worlds meshing to make it a wonderful song! Eve was everything."
12. Donna Summer and Barbara Striesand, "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)"
Zara says: "POWER! Old classic, amazing. Ladies, listen to this one! If I was 17 in 1979 when they released this song I would have been their biggest fan. It's like the Beyonce and Shakira duet of '79!"
13. Ja Rule and Ashanti, "Always On Time"
MNEK says: "In the early 2000s, thug love duets were all the rage and the king and queen of the thug duet were Ja Rule and Ashanti (and sometimes JLo). This song has always been a vibe."
14. MNEK and Zara Larsson, "Never Forget You"
