Set in World War II London, The Dresser follows Sir (Anthony Hopkins), an ailing actor, and his devoted dresser, Norman (Ian McKellen).

"[Sir] senses that his life is running out," director Richard Eyre says in the clip. "And that he's spent his life, possibly, worthlessly."

And so it's up to Norman to get Sir through a grueling performance of King Lear, in which Sir plays the titular character.

"There's something you could only call love, there's a mutual respect and dependency," McKellen says of the pair's sometimes tumultuous dynamic.

The Dresser premieres May 30 on Starz.
