Charlize Theron was hanging out in Austin this weekend for the premiere of her new film, Atomic Blonde, at the SXSW Film Festival.
On Sunday night, she attended the film's premiere with her co-star James McAvoy and Atomic Blonde director David Leitch.
During the audience Q&A portion of the evening, Theron was asked about her training regimen leading up to filming — because in case you hadn't heard, she kicks some serious ass in this movie.
(Like, this fight scene is going to blow your mind.)
"It was so hard, are you kidding me?" Theron said with a laugh. "When [training] first started I was like, 'This is never going to work, I look like Big Bird.'"
Theron trained in Leitch's gym, 87Eleven Action Design, where a certain actor named Keanu Reeves was also training for another film Leitch was directing: John Wick 2.
"We would kind of spar with each other," Theron said. "I'd be like, 'Come on, Keanu. Let's take it down.' Shit like that. It was very macho. It was great."
This really changes Sweet November forever.
