"13 Reasons Why" Season 2 Looks As Dark And Mysterious As Ever

"The tapes were just the beginning."

Buckle up, Liberty High, because Netflix just announced that 13 Reasons Why Season 2 will premiere May 18 — and dropped a dark trailer featuring (most of) the old crew:

Back in March, Netflix announced that the popular and controversial show will add a new warning video to its second season.

It's been over a year since 13 Reasons Why premiered, and the first season left us with as many questions as answers. Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of Hannah Baker's death, as Liberty High prepares to go on trial. But someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding Hannah's death concealed.

A series of ominous polaroids lead Clay and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret, and a conspiracy to cover it up.

It looks like Tony and Ryan might make an unlikely pair this season.

Jessica's still clearly trying to deal with the trauma of being sexually assaulted last season — and perhaps now dealing with someone trying to silence her.

Mr. Porter will deal with his guilt about failing Hannah, and hopefully help to hold Bryce responsible for his horrendous actions.

Bryce is clearly still a rapist.

Hannah's mother is still trying to unravel the mystery of her daughter's life and how to get justice.

And Clay will, it seems, once again try to help Hannah Baker in whatever way he still can.

It's all extremely mysterious. But one thing's clear: This story isn't over.

Netflix also announced that in preparation for the launch of Season 2, new resources will be added to 13ReasonsWhy.info, including an updated Discussion Guide and a new Discussion Series — a set of videos where cast members address issues in the series including bullying, sexual assault, and drug abuse.
