5 Things I Wish I Knew As A Freshman

#1: Get Involved Early

There are so many opportunities presented to you within your first few months of college. My advice to you is to take advantage of those opportunities. It's easy to convince yourself that you're too busy right now and you're just trying to settle in before you start getting involved. Find a few things early on that you can be really passionate about and go ahead and get involved!

#2: Study

I know everyone says this but it's true. You have to study for your exams and studying is not cramming everything into your head the night before your exam. Take time everyday to look over material from your classes so you don't get behind.

#3: Get to Know Your Professors

If you get to know your professors you will find that they can actually be pretty cool people. They can provide many opportunities for you, like getting involved in different organizations or with their research. It's never too early to start thinking about letters of recommendation.

#4: Start Looking for Housing Early

Freshman year you're most likely living in the dorm so your not too worried about housing for the time being. Start looking at housing for the upcoming year before the fall semester is over, it seems early but it's not!
