    1. Maybelline's Color Sensational Matte Nude Lipsticks are super pigmented and have a creamy formula so your lips stay lusciously hydrated.

    Instagram: @maybelline

Promising review: "I freaking love this lipstick. I bought it (hesitantly) after watching a YouTube beauty video. I have brown skin, so it's usually hard for me to watch videos online and buy products that I can't see, because so often the colors are just wrong for me. BUT THIS PRODUCT IS GREAT FOR ME!!!! I'm a caramel-y skin color, and this color is the perfect mauve-y nude. It's the lipstick I reach for the most, and I'm so sure that I'll purchase it again. The matte doesn't dry your lips out, the pigmentation payoff is impressive for a drugstore brand, and it's creamy for a long time before mattifying. I'm obsessed." —Sanjay Gangal

Compare it to Anastasia Beverly Hills' Matte Lipstick ($18).

Get it from Amazon for $4.99+ (available in 28 colors).

    2. Milani's Make-It Last Setting Spray is a total workhorse that locks in your makeup for up to 16 hours (!!!) *AND* leaves your skin looking extra radiant and shine-free.

Promising review: "This spray lasted me through six hours of school, then almost SIX HOURS in TWO EMERGENCY ROOMS AND AN AMBULANCE, and all the time I spent there I had to be on my stomach. Not once did I see makeup on the pillow, and then I went to sleep and in the morning most of it was still there. 24 HOURS PEOPLE. GET YOSELF A MAN WHO HAS THIS DEDICATION AND LOYALTY. I've used Urban Decay and NYX, (NYX used to be my #1) but this is amazing. Granted, I do believe that it depends on your skin and makeup ingredients on which spray works best, because I used UD's All-Nighter and it didn't work." —bri

Compare it to Urban Decay's All-Nighter Setting Spray ($32).

Get it from Walmart for $8.97, Target for $7.49, or Ulta for $9.99.

    3. Makeup Revolution's Reloaded eyeshadow palettes offer the perfect combination of shimmers and mattes, and prove you don't have to drop a ton of $$$ to get a stunning long-lasting look.

Promising review: "I was looking for something similar to ABH Modern Renaissance or Urban Decay Heat Palette and I found this gem. Its very pigmented and buildable. Doesn't crease. Easy to blend. Doesn't oxidize. No fallout. I'm so happy I found this and its so affordable!! Bottom line, I highly recommend." —AZC

Get it from Ulta for $7 (available in four palettes).

    4. NYX's HD Finishing Powder might soften the appearance of pores while working double-duty to set makeup and give it a matte finish.

Promising review: "I buy all kinds of brands of makeup. I am a professionally trained makeup artist and a makeup enthusiast. I am always looking for great products and NYX does not disappoint with their quality and price. This is one of my all time favorite finishing powders. I even recommend this on my makeup blog page. It's a great powder at a fantastic price. It goes on light and smooth so it feels like you didn't even put powder on. It doesn't set into fine lines and creases and keeps your makeup looking great and shine free all day. I pair this powder with the NYX Matte Finish setting spray and I stay shine free with makeup in place all day! I tend to suffer from dry skin which can cause major issues when using powders. On a day where I have a dry spot this powder does not make the dry spot worse. I do recommend this one (the pressed powder) over the loose though. No need to spend loads of money on finishing powder and setting spray with NYX! This the perfect product if you are a budget buyer." —Jes C

Compare it to Laura Mercier's Translucent Loose Setting Powder ($38).

Get it from Walmart for $9.97 or Ulta for $9.99 (available in three colors).

Promising review: "I love this foundation. This is the first foundation I have tried that has matched my skin so closely. It gives me medium to light coverage which I personally love since I like wearing this during the summer time. I have acne scars that I really don't love. They make me feel self conscious about myself. But this product provided coverage over them. Also what tops it all is that this foundation is matte! I have very oily skin so this thing is my holy grail. If you are wondering whether to get it just read this review. It goes on and blends flawlessly. I bought another bottle just because I love it so much!" —Simpleebekah

Promising review: "I bought this matte lip cream (Istanbul) when I ran out of my KoKo K lip kit by Kylie Jenner and was told by a friend that this liquid lip was an exact match to the kit. I'm so glad I took my friends advice. Instead of paying $29 dollars I only paid $6 and it is the same exact color. It even lasts much longer than the one made by Kylie. I only had to apply once in the morning and do a touch up in the evening. It is easy to apply and there is plenty of product so it should last a while. I will be sticking with this product and ordering more colors." —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $4.19+ (available in 11 colors).

    7. Burt's Bees Gloss Lip Crayon is made with natural ingredients and glides on your lips to give you long-lasting color and hydration.

    Instagram: @burtsbees / Via Instagram: @the_candid_correspondent

Promising review: "I LOVE the Redwood Forest Lip Crayon! As someone who is extremely fair with blonde hair who loves a red lip, it is hard to find a color that I like that is not too bright for everyday use. This is perfectly toned down, but still adds color and makes my skin look more clear in comparison! Easy to apply without even looking in a mirror, and I reapply it about once every hour or two if I can, but when I work it has lasted six hour shifts with minimal fade on the inner part of the lip. I wear it every day, and one crayon lasts me at least six months! This is my swear-to lip product and two years later I still love it!" —Anna

Compare it to BITE's Matte Crème Lip Crayon ($24).

Get it from Amazon for $5.99+ (available in 12 colors).

Promising review: "I was looking for some fall/winter blush colors and this caught my eye. The price alone is reason to buy this palette. The colors are so beautiful and highly pigmented. I have fair skin so I use a very light hand and this will last me a very long time. So glad I got this! Packaging and colors remind me of Nars... but the price is waaaaaay better!" —Erika

Get it on sale from e.l.f. for $1.92 (originally $6; available in two palettes), Ulta or Walmart for $6.

    9. L'Oreal's Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara adds length and volume to your lashes thanks to the TWO HUNDRED soft bristles on the brush.

I am regular buyer of this and can confirm: it's amazing.

Promising review: "This is hands down the best mascara I have EVER used. I saw a lot of glowing reviews of it on social media so I wanted to try it. It is extremely similar to the Too Faced Better Than Sex (BTS) mascara but better IMO. Lash Paradise does not clump, flake, smear nor smudge. The brush is a bit smaller so it is much easier to use. I always end up touching my eye when using BTS because of the large applicator. Or I get it on my lids due to their formula being wetter. I have not had any issues with sensitivity to Lash Paradise either. My lashes hold their curl too as this product is light weight and doesn't make my lashes crunchy. It's price is amazing since it works better for less than half the cost of BTS." —Starz123

Compare it to Too Faced's Better Than Sex Mascara ($23).

Get it from Amazon for $8.52+ (available in four colors).

    10. Real Technique's Miracle Complexion Sponge evenly blends makeup like an absolute dream to give you a smooth and enhanced finish.

    Instagram: @realtechniques

Promising review: "I was hesitant to buy these sponges instead of my normal go-to Beauty Blender but I was truly shook. IT IS BETTER THAN THE OG BEAUTY BLENDER! I bought the pack of two for half the price of just one Beauty Blender. Real Techniques sponges expand like the BB and blend out foundation and concealer seamlessly. I will definitely be purchasing these again!" —Sky Chey

Compare it to the Beauty Blender ($20).

Get a set of two from Amazon for $8.99.

    11. Essence's Pure Nude Highlighter gives you a fierce but natural shimmer (that's buttery and not chalky) for a fraction of the price of high-end ones.,

Promising review: "This gives such a beautiful heathy glow to the skin. It isn't too dramatic or glittery but still makes you look radiant. The formula is great, it isn't powdery or chalky, it's very soft and smooth and doesn't emphasize texture or pores. I even like to apply some of this with my setting powder all over my face because I have dry skin. Like the another reviewer mentioned it truly does give you the glowing-from-within look." —nathan145

Compare it to Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector ($19).

Get it from Amazon for $4.99.

Promising review: "I have a lot of trouble with getting really red and splotchy when I am nervous, upset, or anything! I bought this pallet before an interview to use the green color on my cheeks! My makeup artist from my wedding used it on my wedding day and it was amazing! SO I went out bought it for myself to use. Used a little green on my face areas that get red, then covered it with a liquid foundation and my typical powder. It is truly a lifesaver and you could not see any redness in my face or neck!!!" —Interviewee

Compare it to Stila's Correct & Perfect Palette ($45).

Get it from Amazon for $8.99.

    13. Maybelline's Brow Precise Pencil features a half millimeter tip (yeah — that's TINY!) so you can create precise lines that actually match your brows. It also has a grooming brush for blending.

Promising review: "I use this every single day, even on the days when I don't wear makeup at all! I have sparse lighter eyebrows and the blonde shade matches me so perfectly. I can't find a color that matches me anywhere else, I've tried other cheaper brands and high-end as well, but they are either WAY too light, WAYYYY too orange, or WAYYYYY too brown. BUT THIS IS SO PERFECT! I use this for any and all makeup looks. It's also nice because it is really easy to build up, so if I want a more natural look I can easily apply it lightly but if I want a full glam situation I can also really easily build it up. The spoolie on the other end is great too, I mean it's just a normal spoolie but its handy to have it right there. I've converted my sister, my mom, some of friends into using this product because it truly is amazing!!!!!" —Lucy

For those saying it doesn't, check what brushes you use! The colors are a good variety for many skin tones. Promising review: "I can't rave enough about BH cosmetics, and this showstopper is to die for. Initially, I really only bought this palette more of novelty, and because I collect makeup palettes, but wow wow wee wow, this palette is incredible. Extremely pigmented, this palette can be used for any look, and its extremely versatile. Compound that with the price, the fact that these pots last forever, much like the shadows, themselves, and they are out of this world! (Pun absolutely intended!)" —Dallas

Compare it to Urban Decay's Moondust Eyeshadow Palette $49.

Get it from Ulta for $16 or Amazon for $20.32.

Promising review: "This is one of the only beauty products I have used up completely and re-purchased three times. Being a beauty product junkie, this should speak to how great this concealer is. I love that it's creamy enough to use under the eyes and not cause dryness/creasing yet not SO creamy that you can use it on other areas of the face and it won't move around. I feel like this is comparable to the NARS creamy concealer for just a fraction of the price. The color is perfectly warm, yet fair so that you can also highlight your face without it turning ashy. I will continue to use this concealer for years to come." —RebeccaMUA

Comparable to NARS's Radiant Creamy Concealer ($30)

Get it from Amazon for $5.29+ (available in six shades).

I've been using it for 3-4 years now and I love it! I love the subtle shimmer and sun kissed look. The compact brings so much product you could easily go nine months without having to get a new one. I hope they never discontinue this product." —Aixa

Compare it to Hourglass' Ambient Lighting Bronzer ($50).

Promising review: "This product is amazing! I have oily skin and this product helps a lot with keeping my skin matte throughout the day. Other products such as bronzers, blush, etc. blend well with this powder as well. It does settle into creases but that is normal for me with every product because I have terrible laugh lines. Other than that I think this is a great product." —Sandra

Get it from Ulta for $3.99.

    20. Revlon's Colorstay Creme Eyeshadows are as long-lasting as they are mesmerizing, and will give you a striking look with minimal effort.

Promising review: "I absolutely love this product!! I use it as a base for my powder eye shadows or just use it alone when I'm in a hurry in the morning. The neutral colors look very natural and brighten my eyes. I use my finger to blend it, not the brush. It lasts like 16 hours!! And it doesn't crease or slide around like most of them do. Very good quality for the value!" —Luxe On A Budget

Get it from Amazon for $5.64+ (available in three colors).

    22. NYX's Pore Filler basically does what the name says: Fills in your pores and creates a smooth foundation for other makeup.

Promising review: "I got this because it was recommended as a dupe for Benefit's Porefessional (I just can't bring myself to spend $36 on primer every six weeks). It comes out of the tube with a drier texture (compared with Porefessional's creamier texture), but blends just as smoothly and is a great base for BB cream. It helps makeup stick and provides some (though not perfect) oil control. I'm totally happy with this purchase and will definitely get it." —OhEdith

Promising review: "I've used many different types of foundation over the years. I refuse to buy the super expensive foundation brands (anything over $20), because I have other things I would rather spend my money on. However, that has led to me purchasing some pretty crappy types of foundation over the years. This Covergirl Outlast 3-in-1 has definitely shown me that you can get amazing foundation at a great price! This is by far the best foundation that I have ever used. It is creamy and goes on very smoothly, and bet of all, it lasts pretty much all day. With other brands, I would get home and wash my face around 8 PM with my makeup wipes, and there would be absolutely NO foundation coming off on the wipes, because it had all worn off. However, with this foundation, there is still a lot of foundation wiping off onto the makeup cleaner wipe! I also love how smooth it makes my face look. I barely have to touch up at all with this foundation, because the coverage is so nice. The foundation does not cake at all either.

I am definitely very happy with this foundation, and it will most definitely be my go to from now on!" —Kimberly Sue

Compare it to NARS' Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation ($49).

Get it from Amazon for $7.80+ (available in seven colors).
