I'm in a sort-of serious war with the dust and hair (no, I don't have a cat or dog, but I shed like one) in my apartment. I clean, and then I blink my eyeballs, and somehow everything is dirty again!!!

To help deal with my apartment's filth issue, I got this Black + Decker hand vacuum ($49) so I could easily stay on my cleaning game. And TBH, I AM NOW A VACUUMIN' FOOL!

I live in a TINY apartment and have no room for a giant vacuum, so this became crucial for me since sweeping and mopping just weren't getting the job done. This lil' guy is small enough to hide away, has an adjustable narrow nozzle for hard-to-reach places, and keeps a good charge so I can pick it up and vacuum whenever it's convenient.

Note: Please don't assume I jumped and bought the first vacuum that caught my eye — I was really looking to be ~impressed~. So did the research and finally invested in this one when I realized 13,000+ (!!!) people were using it.

Seriously, since buying this, I pretty much vacuum every day.

Just this morning, in fact. I knocked a glass of milk off the end table and it broke; glass went everywhere. I wiped up the milk and did a good sweep, but just to ensure I left no glass remnants behind, I whipped out my hand vacuum for a quick vacuuming sesh.

I can assure you I'm not the only one who's in a committed relationship with their hand vacuum. People who do have pets use this regularly to prevent an animal-hair takeover. Just take a look at this super-cute pup — I mean good review:

"We have no carpet, but we have a Great Pyrenees and three cats. The fur tumbleweeds were winning the war. This little guy is super effective at picking up all that fur. It does get clogged sometimes but since it comes apart completely and is actually simple to put back together, it hasn't been a big deal." —Candice

It's also great for vacuuming up litter as this reviewer promises:

Earth Momma /

"Don't be fooled by his debonair looks. This cat is a litter flinger. It's like his personal feline mission to send litter particles into outer space. Because the ultralight cat litter really flies, I buy the old-school heavy kind. This hand vac sucks it all up, too. It's dedicated specifically to litter in my house because using it anywhere else would be gross. So for cat litter, a win." —Earth Momma

This specific model sells for $49.99, which I realize is on the pricier end. It's definitely an investment piece for me, but Black + Decker also sells a more basic model for $29.99: /

The simpler model doesn't have a narrow or adjustable nozzle — so it can't reach tricky places as easily as the more expensive version — but for general cleaning, it's great to have around! (You can also get a five-pack of replacement filters from Amazon for $16.36 and a replacement pre-filter for $6.69.)
