Donald Trump Wins US Presidential Election

    November 9, 2016

In an historic upset, Donald Trump has won the election for President of the United States. The key features of his platform include bringing back manufacturing jobs to America, removing illegal immigrants, forcing Mexico to build a wall along the border between the United States and Mexico, limiting entrance to the United States for Muslims, and taking aggressive military action against the so called Islamic State. Before the election returns came in, political pundits predicted that it would be a tight race, but that Hillary Clinton would emerge as the victor. Donald Trump won 271 electorates from the electoral college by winning a majority in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida, key states that many people predicted Hillary Clinton would win. The final votes for Michigan have not been announced yet, but exit polls show that the state will lend its electorates to Trump. In another twist, it appears as though Hillary Clinton has won the popular vote. The exact margin will not be known until each state announces their final votes. Donald Trump will be inaugurated on January 20, 2017.
