When Sookie first met Bill Compton for the first time, it was obvious that she was more than just a little intrigued. Yet, it was the reaction that her grandmother had that was really interesting. Her grandmother didn't react in a way that showed prejudice against vampires. Instead, she showed true curiosity over what Bill Compton could reveal about living such a long life. She then asks Sookie if Bill would come speak at the Descendants of the Glorious Dead meeting. And Bill being the gentleman he is blissfully agrees & later in the 5th episode of True Blood Bill keeps his promise to Sookie and speaks at the Descendants of the Glorious Dead meeting.

While the story of True Blood started off when Sookie Stackhouse was already considered a grown adult, there were a number of things that happened during her younger years that seemed to form who she had become. One of those things that was touched upon throughout the series was the fact that she had grown up with her best friend Tara Thornton that really seemed to understand her and accept her for her telepathic ability. Tara was first seen in the pilot of True Blood and was immediately established as Sookie's best friend and in flashbacks from multiple episodes you can tell that they have been best friends since childhood.

The first death in the community came as a huge blow, & with the first victim being a well known waitress at Merlotte's people immediately wanted to know who was responsible. So when the police searched Maudette's house and found a sex tape taken earlier that day with Jason the police were quick to jump to conclusions. And with the fact that Jason actually believed he had killed her made things a lot worse but later Jason & the police watched the whole tape &realized he didn't kill her.

When she showed up at his house, she met a few of his vampire companions that weren't at all like him in their demeanor. He didn't seem at all bothered by the fact that Sookie was with Bill during her babysitting night with Arlene's children but it all seemed to be part of a made up persona. It was later revealed that René Lenier wasn't even his real name & he was behind all the horrendous murders toward "fangbangers."

During times of turmoil, it was harder for Sookie to control her telepathic abilities and that definitely became an issue during the funeral for Adele Stackhouse. Yet, the main reason why she became so upset was because of a surprise guest that showed up to the funeral, who she happened to have a very complicated relationship with in the past.

She definitely wasn't human but she didn't have the same characteristics of a vampire, werewolf, or shapeshifter. This was a creature that was extremely powerful and seemingly couldn't be killed. But later when we find out what she was she is then killed.

Nevertheless she found out who was stealing and was almost killed by Longshadow before Bill shove a stake in his heart through his back to protect his precious Sookie.

When Tara Thornton's mother arrived at the funeral for Adele Stackhouse, it seemed like she was in far better shape than the day when she cracked Tara over the head with an alcohol bottle. She even stood at the podium and said some amazing words about Adele Stackhouse and Tara felt like this may have been a great sign about her reform. Yet, she later learned that her mother just needed money for an exorcism. Tara believed her mother was using this as an excuse and would use the money for liquor, but later gives in. Tara and her mother walk to the woods and Miss Jeanette gives Tara's mom an "Exorcism" and later convinces Tara to get one as well. Both Tara and her mother clean up their act after that truly believing they had a demon inside if them. Tara later realizes Miss Jeanette was a fake but never tells her mother for fear that he mom would start drinking again.

Bill Compton's maker turned him into a vampire against his will and he seemed to loathe her. Yet, Eric Northman's maker had a completely different relationship with him and there seemed to be a true bond and real love between them. Godric had saved Eric and for that Eric was truly thankful these two are shown in many flashbacks and you can tell they were very close. This relationship really helped to showcase a different side to Eric Northman. Godric was a very old vampire and wished only for peace between humans and vampires but when something he does blows up a huge political scandal he is removed of his position as sheriff and later kills himself.

When Bill Compton and Sookie Stackhouse were sent on a mission to help locate the missing vampire, Godric, they also saw this as an opportunity to really spend some quality time together. They had never traveled together and they had never spent the night together in a bed so this was something really great for their relationship. Yet, the real revelation came when Sookie found another telepath at the hotel. The telepath Barry was ashamed of his powers and when Sookie offered to help him he declined. Later when Sookie is kidnaped she reaches out to Barry using her abilities for him to deliver a message to Bill containing the information as to where she was being held.

When Sookie travels to Dallas to help look for the missing vampire sheriff, Sookie discovers a bell hop with the same telepathic abilities as her what was his name?

When vampires "came out of the coffin", it's was no surprise that there were many people and organizations determined to exterminate their existence.The anti-vampire movement continued to gain steam and new members when humans were starting to reveal their stories of being used and tossed aside by vampires. After Jasons (ex) girlfriend Amy was murdered because of her beliefs / association with vampire's and their blood. After her murder Jason was wrongly excused and ultimately thrown in jail for the murder of all the girls that were murdered. Once The Fellowship of the Sun thought that Jason truly killed all those "fangbangers" they were instantly interested in him and brought him a packet for The Fellowship of the Sun. Because Jason had given up all hope he decided to join the vampire hating church and was ultimately brain washed believing he had been saved and that he must terminate the vampire species. This is the same church that kidnapped Sookie, Godric, and another human companion.

When Bill proposed to Sookie Stackhouse at the French restaurant, Sookie didn't immediately answer his proposal and ran to the bathroom. She ultimately decided she was being ridiculous, slipped the ring on her finger and ran out of the bathroom to say yes but when she returned, Bill was gone. It was later revealed that he had been taken by a group of werewolves and that they weren't just a random group of werewolves that just so happened to find him there. This was an orchestrated kidnapping and the group was completely prepared to take him, complete with silver chains and gloves. They were doing it at someone else's behest and they needed to take him to a whole new state in order to bring Bill to him. Bill escapes because of a car crash but is then captured again, and taken to the person who ordered his kidnapping : the vampire king of Mississippi.

When Bill was abducted everyone thought he had left on his own but she knew that something horrible had happened to him. In her search for Bill, there was someone that accompanied her, named Alcide who was hired / forced by Eric. When he was forced to help Sookie find her missing boyfriend, the two seemed to really form a bond. Alcide seemed to really care for Sookie and she began to care for Alcide as well. She learned a lot more about his most recent heartbreak through her telepathic ability and she later used this to help try and learn more about the person that had taken Bill. Sookie had discovered that Debbie truly cared for Alcide but she was hooked on V.

When Jason was finally cleared of all the charges regarding the women that were murdered in Bon Temps, it became obvious that he wanted something more for himself. He went with the police during one lifechanging bust where he saw a woman that he later started a romantic relationship with (and ultimately regretted). Crystal Norris seemed like someone that could really use his help but she wasn't exactly thinking rationally and she became a horrible element in his life.

After Sookie finds out Bill didnt meet her by accident she runs to her grandmothers grave and her fairy godmother appears and takes Sookie to the faery realm, which looks like a beautiful, magical world, complete with glowing magical light-fruit called Lumiere. Claudine introduces Sookie to other faeries. Sookie recognizes Barry and discovers that her grandfather is there. He claims that he's only been there a few hours, but has actually been missing for the past 20 years. Sookie refuses to eat the Lumiere fruit and notices that something is off about the perfect place. When she attempts to communicate telepathically with her grandfather, the other faeries all hear her. The Queen commands her to eat the Lumiere fruit. When Sookie refuses, Mab tries to force-feed it to her. The Queen blames Sookie for letting Bill taste fairy blood and declares that they are now harvesting humans. Sookie deflects Queen Mab with her light powers revealing the glowing realm into a barren wasteland and the faeries as ugly creatures. Sookie and her Gandfather escape through a portal and land back in the the cemetery. Sookie’s Grandfather rapidly ages and turns to dust in front of her; an unexpected effect of the Lumiere fruit. Sookie returns to her home to find a group of contractors remodeling it. She walks in, confused, and they threaten to call the police. Sookie is surprised that Jason is the responding officer. He is just as surprised to see her and explains that she has been gone for over 12 months; those ten minutes in fairyland just cost her a year of her life. Jason explains that people thought that Bill had killed her. Not knowing that she was still alive, Jason sold her house.

When Bill Compton made it to the mansion of Russell Edgington, it wasn't exactly what he was expecting in regards to the place that he was going to be held as a prisoner. Edgington may have been a king in the vampire hierarchy but he also had a partner that he lived with and made a life with inside his Mississippi home. This person became integral to the storyline and was ultimately used against Edgington to cause him pain. Because if Something Russel did long ago to Eric's family.

The story of Sam Merlotte's childhood was actually quite sad since he grew up with a family that didn't offer him unconditional love. The fact that he was a shapeshifter was horrifying to them and they way they dealt with it was by leaving him and completely abandoning him. Yet, it was later revealed that this family was far better than his actual biological parents since these were the kind of people that really used and abused their own children.

When Marnie was first introduced into the series, it was difficult to really know what to think. At first, she seemed quite meek and meager but then she started to seem like a character that had an utter fixation with controlling the dead. Her fixation started to become extremely harmful to those around her and it ultimately led to her death.

When Tara's boyfriend wound up dying, she was thrown into a huge pit of depression. She later regretted her decision to spend the night with him, especially since she ultimately became his hostage. She tried to kill him after an intense night together but that didn't work out in her favor. Franklin was a psychopath from the beginning who learned to manipulate Tara.

When Andy Bellefleur was first introduced into the True Blood TV series, he wasn't exactly depicted as the favorite character of the series. He was fixated on Jason Stackhouse being the killer of all the women that were murdered in Bon Temps and he didn't seem like the most competent law enforcement officer. Yet, it was his dalliance in the woods with the fairy that was undoubtedly somethign that he most regretted.

When Bill Compton needed help in defeating the Maenad in Bon Temps, he wound up seeking the guidance of the Vampire Queen of Louisiana. She wound up divulging some crucial information that helped in defeating the Maenad but it was later revealed that she had ulterior motives to trying to be helpful to Bill and Eric. Yet things didn't work out for her in the end and Bill Compton ultimately became the King of Louisiana.

When the Vampire Authority was revealed in the True Blood TV series, it was obvious that there was far more to the power structure within the vampire community. There was also a religious aspect that went into the organization and Bill Compton seemed to really gravitate towards this aspect of it. The blood of Lilith was sacred to those in the Vampire Authority but it also had other powers.
