24 Practical Tips To Help You Through The Best *And* Worst Parts Of Spring

Don't go into the new season wondering, "What's the procedure?"

Unless otherwise specified, all sizes in this post are listed in women's.

Think of this post as your personal guide to help you make it through the good (extra sunlight, being outdoors more, pretty flowers, backyard parties, etc.) and the not-so-good parts (allergies, cleaning, weather, insect bites, etc.) of spring.

    1. Enjoy an extra hour of sunlight with an alarm clock that does more than just tell time! It can wirelessly charge your phone, act as a Bluetooth speaker, and can be used as a night light. Starting your day in the springtime will be nothing short of enjoyable!

    2. File your taxes by Tuesday, April 18 with the deluxe Turbotax downloadable software. You can submit up to five Federal e-files, one state download, and import your W-2 by uploading a photo or PDF. If you have little tax knowledge and absolutely dread this time of year, then you might want to give this a try.

    3. Take allergy medicine if you're plagued with sneezing, runny nose, itching and watery eyes, coughing, and other seasonal allergy symptoms. The active ingredient in these Amazon-brand pills is an antihistamine that can be compared to the active ingredient in Zyrtec. Reviewers say they only need one pill to keep their symptoms under control for the full 24 hours.

    4. Use a ceramic coating spray on your car so pollen won't stick to it and create a disgusting yellow film. It delivers a water-repelling, water-sheeting, and chemical resistant protection that can last up to 12 months. After you clean and dry your car, prep it with a clay bar, then apply a coat of the spray, and use a microfiber cloth to wax. The car wash could never give you a shine this good!

    5. Keep your grass trimmed regularly with a push lawn mower. It has four blades, weighs under 20 pounds, is great for small lawns, and can cut blades of grass up to four inches tall. Now you can keep your yard looking neat without any of the noise you would get from an electric mower.

Promising review: "Great purchase! This mower worked much better than I thought it would. Easy assembly. My girlfriend and I put it together in 15 minutes. Some people are in disbelief that I bought and use this, especially seeing as I've never cut my own grass. This has saved me so much money. My grass seems to be healthier than it ever has. And it's great exercise. My only regret is that I wish I would have bought the bigger one. I have a lot of grass for the small one. More exercise I guess...5 stars!" —Bonnie Phillips

    6. Bust out your spring cleaning checklist, because it's time to deep clean your home. This downloadable PDF has boxes that you can edit to fit the needs of your home. Once everything is filled out and printed, you'll be one step closer to an immaculate house!

    7. Invest in some bug repellent for all of your outdoor activities. Simply spray on your arms and legs to protect yourself from mosquitoes, biting flies, gnats, ticks, chiggers, and fleas. Actually enjoy the outdoors without randomly smacking your body every two minutes.

    8. Keep a light jacket handy because springtime is known for its inconsistent weather. This is a classic wardrobe staple that can be worn on a rainy or sunny day. It also goes well with almost any outfit.

    15. Spray your in-season produce with a fruit and veggie cleaner because you definitely should be removing the pesticides before you eat them. Just spray a generous amount for firm produce, rub for 30 seconds, then rinse thoroughly. You need this if you think that solely rinsing is enough to clean your food.

    16. Reach your water intake goals with a 32 oz. water bottle that includes a straw, locking cover, and marked time stamps so you can stay encouraged and hydrated. It's so easy to forget to drink water when you want to enjoy all that spring has to offer.

Promising review: "I swear by these plant food spikes!!! The package says they are for indoor plants, but I actually use them for all of my outdoor plants, especially my herbs. I first tried these after planting some basil and other herbs that seemed to be taking an eternity to grow. I figured I'd give them a try since they were so inexpensive and wow!!!!! Within just a few days, my plants had grown more than double what they had grown in the previous several weeks!! One of my friends (who also enjoys gardening) came over to my house and was in awe of how big and healthy all of my herbs were. When I told her about these spikes, she went straight from my house to purchase some and had the exact same growth results." —GatorDO17

    22. Install new air filters in your AC because you would be disgusted to see how much dust can accumulate in a few months. If you're someone who has allergies, then you need a filter that will trap pollen, dust mites, dander, smoke, and other irritants that make your eyes water and make you sneeze. This season you'll start using your AC a lot more, and you'll be glad to inhale clean air.

    23. Use a microfiber dusting kit that can reach the high windows, walls, and ceilings in your home. It comes with a collapsable 13-foot long extension pole and three different attachment heads. You can easily clean areas that would usually have you crouching down to reach them aswell.

    24. Remove any caked-on gunk from your grill with this heavy-duty cleaner. Grill season is among us, and the last thing you want to do is spend anymore time removing last year's food morsels from your grates.
