14 Wash Day Struggles That Are Too Real For Anyone With Naturally Curly Hair

    Wash, rinse, cry, and repeat!

Women with naturally curly tresses cringe at the thought of wash day.

In theory, washing your hair is a simple task; get in the shower, shampoo, condition, and rinse. However, if you were blessed with hair that twists and turns then you know it's not that easy.

Washing curly hair takes a strong will and a lot of patience. Here are some difficulties curly goddesses have to endure:

    1. Picking a day that gives you enough time to wash your hair without interfering with your everyday routine.

    2. Scheduling your meals around deep conditioning and detangling your hair.

    3. Your bathroom looks likes a mini beauty supply store/salon, but you still can't find that one product that makes your hair super soft and manageable.

    4. Having to continuously explain to your friends that when you say you're washing your hair all day, you really mean ALL day.

    5. Mentally preparing for the many tasks at hand and gathering the strength to get them all done in one day.

    6. Using half a bottle of conditioner because your hair needs all the moisture it can get.

    7. Constantly having to take small breaks while detangling because your arms are hurting so bad.

    8. Breaking your favorite comb because it couldn't handle the curls.

    9. Having a mini heart attack because of the amount of hair you've shed and fearing that you're bald.

    10. Breaking down because it's 10 p.m. and you've been doing your hair since 10 a.m. and you're still not done.

    11. Debating whether or not to shave your head so you don't have to go through this process again.

    12. Bargaining and borderline begging you hair to cooperate just this once.

    13. Being shocked and slightly saddened by the shrinkage, even though it happens everytime you wash your hair.

    14. Finally, crying when your twist out isn't fully dry the next morning and having to rock a high puff.

Though wash day comes with its own share of frustration, it has to be done and it's worth it in the end.
