This Trick For Making Stale Bread Delicious Again Will Change Your Life

It's a simple trick that only takes a few minutes.

So you bought an awesome loaf of bread, but you've neglected it for days. It's probably stale by now.

But wait β€” don't throw it out. Bon AppΓ©tit has a genius solution.

First, be sure your loaf isn't moldy. There is a limit to the life-saving magic you can work.

Then run your bread under water. No, seriously, it'll help.

The water can be hot or cold.

Try to angle the loaf so the crust is near the faucet, but it's OK if the insides end up getting wet.

    Pop it in the oven.

Either use your oven's "warm" setting or set if to 300 to 325 degrees. Six to seven minutes should do the trick, unless the whole loaf ended up drenched. Then shoot for 10 to 12.

The water will become steam, which rehydrates the middle. Meanwhile, the heat hardens the crust, Bon AppΓ©tit explains.

When you pull it out, your bread should be good as new.
