5. The Holiday Calendar

The newest edition to Netflix's Christmas artillery, this one left me wanting more. It's a little slow to start and honestly I was confused in the middle. But it has all the ingredients for a classic bad Christmas love story: best friends falling in love, advent calendars, a second man in the running, a wise older sister, and thickly accented best friend. This one gets 2/5 Santas. 🎅🎅.

4. The Christmas Chronicles

Netflix

This one is a surprise contender. Different than the other more ~romantic~ contenders on the list this film is more reminiscent of bigger blockbusters. Exciting and surprising the usual plot of "kids find Santa Claus" is well executed and the perfect amount of cliche. This one gets 3/5 Santas. 🎅🎅🎅.

3. The Princess Switch

What's great about the Princess Switch is not only Vanessa Hudgens, but also the fact that this story seems to mix all of our favorite Christmas movies together. A homegrown girl falling in love with the prince of a small, unknown country? Check. A royal duchess whose parents died mysteriously falling in love with a commoner? Check. An adorable daughter with a cool handshake whose mother is inexplicably gone? Check and check. This one hits all the right notes for the best of both worlds. This one gets 3/5 Santas. 🎅🎅🎅.

2. Christmas Inheritance

This one definitely has some of the most recognizable faces and, dare I say, some of the better acting. The plot is quite unbelievable. In the literal sense. Who would send their troublemaker daughter to a remote area to hand deliver a letter with only $100 to her name and then coordinate a giant ruse to scare her straight. Why does no one know where Zeke went? What if she actually went to Hawaii? This one gets 3/5 Santas. 🎅🎅🎅.

1. A Christmas Prince

Netflix

This one is my number one for several reasons. A New York reporter disguising herself as a royal tutor to get close to the prince is just a recipe for love and heartbreak, all our favorite things. This movie made me believe in the cheesy Christmas rom-com again. The twists and turns are genuinely surprising and the plot isn't as cookie cutter as one may think. You can find me counting down the days till the sequel. This one gets 5/5 Santas. 🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅.
