Equestrians, PLEASE Dish All The Stories And Secrets From The Horse World That You Can Never Tell Your Mother

We all know how horse people can be (she said lovingly, and with no hint of passive-aggression)!

Where I grew up, tons of people rode horses and were into showing. That was never quite my scene, but I loved hearing stories about absolutely absurd (and may I say entitled?) horse people, especially during show season.

I've heard some wild tales from the equestrians I know, but I know from experience that the absolute best stories always come from people who are in the horse world for work, not play: vets, farriers, trainers, and grooms.

Any hobby primarily for the rich is going to have some (for lack of more delicate language) real snobs! So, no matter what the reason is that you've been in the horse world, I would LOVE to hear your stories. (I tragically just don't get as much gossip as I used to.)

Maybe the manager of a barn you work or ride at got caught embezzling funds. No wonder the board was getting raised so high!

Perhaps you were on the A-circuit with clients when you unearthed a nice, horrible — delicious — old-fashioned cheating scandal. All fun and games until someone's spouse stops funding their horse habit.

Did a trainer get caught stealing horse tranquilizers? Have you ever been screamed at by the parent of THE Most Talented 16-Year-Old Equestrian on Earth? Has anyone just, like, treated you as if you were hot garbage? This is your place to dish.
