Zoo Lights

In Washington DC, the National Zoo is part of the part of the Smithsonian Institution. Every year the zoo hosts ZooLights, an event where environmentally friendly LED lights decorate the zoo.

I am sharing a sample of some of the installations.

At the entrance, there is a light display of a red panda sitting on top of the ZooLights sign.

In addition to animal displays, there are also trees decorated with lights.

Walking around you could see flora and fauna decorations.

I saw a family of lions. Many of the displays have sponsors.

A seal is photo-bombed by an octopus.

This is a 3D display of an elephant.

Final information

The zoo will continue to have ZooLights through January 1st. The best part, admission is free. You can find more event information here.
