Johnnie Walker Penicillin
Start a new Apres Ski tradition with this Johnnie Walker Penicillin!
Honey Ginger Syrup
1⁄2 cup honey
1⁄2 cup water
3-inch knob of ginger, peeled and sliced
Strip of lemon rind
1 & 1/4 ounces Johnnie Walker Black Label
1 & 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 & 1/2 tablespoons honey ginger syrup
1⁄4 ounce Lagavulin or other Islay Scotch
Strip of lemon rind, for garnish
1. Syrup: Place all ingredients in a small pot over low heat. Bring to a simmer. Let simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Strain syrup and let cool.
2. Cocktail: Pour Johnnie Walker Black Label, lemon juice, honey ginger syrup, and a handful of ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake well. Strain over a large ice cube in a glass. Pour in Lagavulin as a float. Thread strip of lemon onto a garnish skewer and place on glass.
