Makes one cocktail.
Cherry-Orange Simple Syrup
1 cup water
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 cup ripe cherries, pitted and halved
½ orange, peeled
Roughly chop the peel from ½ an orange.
1. Combine orange peel, cherries, water, and sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Lower to a simmer for 5 minutes, stirring until sugar dissolves and mixture thickens slightly.
2. Let steep for 10 minutes, then strain out the cherries and orange peel.
1½ ounces Johnnie Walker Black
½ ounce Amaretto
¼ ounce cherry-orange simple syrup (recipe above)
1. Pour ingredients directly into an ice-filled glass and stir.
2. Garnish with two cherries and a sliver of orange peel. Enjoy!
