Financial Podcasts are Anything but Boring (Even if you are SO not a Finance Geek)

Does the idea of listening to financial podcasts put you to sleep at the wheel? Not all of us are into talk radio or listening to lectures. These days, however, podcasts are anything but boring. They are entertaining and an efficient way to learn something while you are driving to work, working out, or even cleaning the house. On a mission to up my game when it comes to personal finance, I discovered some really good finance podcasts. Here’s my top 7:

1. Stacking Benjamins - It’s no wonder that this podcast has won awards. Joe Saul-Sehy and the rest of the team at Stacking Benjamins record Stacking Benjamins from Saul-Sehy’s mom’s basement. They not only give useful financial advice on topics ranging from creating multiple streams of income to investing, this podcast is also highly entertaining, and believe it or not, it is funny! Characters like ‘The Other Guy’ and ‘Crazy Neighbour Doug’ take the seriousness out of money matters.

2. The Tim Ferriss Show – The success story behind this top financial podcast that’s been running for several years could be that it features famous people like Tony Robbins, Vince Vaughn and Arnold Schwarzenegger and others. I feel like a fly on the wall when I hear big names like this share their insights on life and business. With over 200 million downloads from iTunes and more than 3,000 five-star reviews (including mine), you can’t go wrong with the Tim Ferriss Show.

3. The Side Hustle Show – If you’re into creating multiple income streams, this is definitely the number 1 podcast to tune into. You are almost guaranteed to get an awesome idea or two to explore every time you listen to this show.

4. Afford Anything – Who wouldn’t want to afford anything? Paula Pant, a real estate investor and blogger says you can afford anything, just not everything. According to Pant, there are ways to build a passive income while staying authentic and choosing a business that provides purpose as well as freedom. Her insights are pretty unique and inspiring.

5. Girlboss Radio – Definitely not just for girls, American rock star and entrepreneur Sophia Amoruso helps listeners to become savvier in defining their personal journey to success. With guests ranging from Hollywood stars like Gwyneth Paltrow to CEOs from Silicon Valley, Girlboss radio provides its audience with wide and varied perceptions.

6. Listen Money Matters – I love that the commentary on this podcast is uncensored. Hosts Thomas Frank and Andrew Fiebert have interviews with top minds in finance and make a promise that they will help anyone to ‘free their inner financial badasses.’

7. So Money – This must-listen podcast is great for entrepreneurs who are ready to take their businesses to the next level, and are keen on getting tips and tricks to achieve this from thought leaders. What’s great about this podcast is that everyone interviewed on this show are straightforward and frank about their experience with money – good or bad, lessons are learned and shared.
