Get it from Amazon for $89.99+ (available in seven colors).

    Amazon

For ages 3+ years (weight limit of 110 pounds).

Promising review: "I don't write reviews often, but we have had this for two days, and my boys (3 and 5) woke up at 6:30 a.m., ate breakfast and got dressed, and hustled outside on a gloomy rainy mid-February morning in Seattle to play with this. They normally fight over whose turn it is, but instead, they have been taking turns and playing like civil humans for an hour already. Best toy ever, bought a second one already so they don't have to share because there's only so long siblings can go before someone throws down." —Rk

Get it from Amazon for $43.99+ (available in three colors).

    5. A Dino Blasters rocket launcher because what kid that's been cooped up inside wouldn't love sending/stomping some thunder lizards up to 100 feet high in the sky from a volcano?

    6. A "magic" light-up floating nebula orb drone for taking games of "Keepy-Uppy" to the next level thanks to the ball's ability to move at different angles and speeds, just like a UFO!

    10. A bean bag toss game for kids to develop the most important hand-to-eye-skills necessary for backyard good times. Bonus: It folds up for storage and easy portability (like indoors).

    For ages 2+.

Promising review: "I needed something that would keep my 3-year-old busy while I cooked dinner in the kitchen. This thing is amazing. It fits nicely in my small kitchen, and I can even toss the bean bags with him while I cook. So, we are interacting, he is entertained, and not tugging on my leg every few seconds. It also provides him something that he can do on his own. You can stand it up, or lay it down, and it provides two different levels of difficulty. It folds up really small and comes with a carrying case, so we can easily take it with us on vacations and such! I'm pretty happy with this purchase." —Jose Martinez

Get it from Amazon for $6.99+ (available in four styles).

    13. An inflatable Bump N' Bounce body bumpers game so all of that indoor energy can finally be funneled (with an emphasis on fun) to the great outdoors. And you thought you'd never bet on one of your kids, but, well, here we are.

    14. A set of colorful, handmade mini-butterfly wings for some fun flying fantasy play. Also comes with a storage bag and confetti (so watch out for that last one).

    15. A two-pack of super light flying rings because you know at least one of them will be immediately eaten by a neighbor's tree or end up on the roof.

    16. A pair of GeoSafari Jr. binoculars designed for inquisitive toddlers and preschoolers that want to be able to look at birds, planes, treetops, and other high-up things up close (preferably outside)!

    For ages 3+.

Promising review: "Santa brought these for my 3-year-old son. By far his favorite gift. The colors are adorable. The binoculars are easy to hold. My son wouldn't put them down on Christmas Day. We took him to see deer, and the look on his face when he spotted the 'kid' deer in his binoculars, absolutely priceless. Recommend these to anyone with young children." —Amazon Customer

    17. A pair of foldable, pop-up soccer nets with a carrying case so no matter the pitch, the kids will be able to practice or play some footie. Goallllll!!!!

    18. A Razor FlashRider 360 caster trike that spins (the kids call that drifting) and emits sparks (with replaceable cartridges). Yes, your child is going to be "that kid," but sometimes, it's cool to be that kid.

    Amazon

    For ages 5+.

Promising review: "Santa Claus left this little unit for my 6-year-old son, and I have to say: best gift ever! He used this three days in a row until the snow fell, and he is enchanted. He is a bit cautious and needed to learn how this rider behaves, but each day, he became more daring and picked up a little more speed. By the third day, he was confident enough to build up a little speed, cut the wheel, and spin into the 360. I am a bit cautious as well, and since the rider is so close to the ground, the possibility for serious injury seems pretty low. We live in a very small town, so not a lot of vehicle traffic, but if you are on a busy road, I would be more careful. I will be looking into attaching a bright-colored flag to the back like you see on some mopeds." —davisgirl

Get it from Amazon for $105

    19. A Franklin Sports kids baseball tee with a carrying case, because any outdoor toy that encourages cleaning up after taking swings like a cleanup hitter deserves to be in the parenting Hall of Fame. That's what coach would call "the fundies."

"We got this tee for our 12-month-old after seeing a friend with it. It is very sturdy, is collapsable, and has good quality materials. Our son loves playing with it mostly just picking up the balls or bat to start, but he has slowly started to figure out how to place the balls on the tee. We are happy with the quality and the price." —KCH

    Amazon

    For ages 5+.

Promising review: "This is a great water toy (gun? It doesn’t look like a gun!). But it is amazing and beats all of the water toys that I’ve purchased! I’m a diehard Super Soaker fan, and nothing on the market even comes close to what we used to get in the '90s EXCEPT this thing!!! I’m so excited for camping and our first water fight; the kids are GOING DOWN! The capacity is decent, and the water pressure is amazing." —Jessica D.

Get it from Amazon for $24 (available in three colors).

    22. A Franklin Football junior football made of durable rubber (so you can't call this one "the ol' pigskin") that can take an absolute beating on grass or concrete and keep coming back for more.

Split images of white helmet with red, white, and blue stripe down the middle
    Amazon, Thousand

For ages 5+ and will fit any child’s head with a circumference of 19-21 inches.

This is the helmet my son wears when he's whipping around the uneven pavement of city sidewalks on his scooter (usually not looking where he's going). I love the way it fits him, and the adjustability makes it easy to figure out if it's on his noggin just right. The chin strap clip is magnetic and takes a little getting used to. But let's talk about how cool it looks! The slightly extended brim almost makes it feel like a horse-riding helmet. We've got the white one with the red, white, and blue stripe down the middle that gives serious Speed Racer vibes.

Get it from Amazon for $60 (available in eight colors).

    24. A 6-foot long inflatable remote-controlled T-Rex, which is exactly what it sounds like. It turns and spins, stomps and roars. What more could a kid ask for?

Child playing with inflatable T-Rex for scale (no pun intended)
Triptych of reviewer images of T-Rex toy in different outdoor locations

For ages 8+ and requires three AAA batteries.

Promising review: "This is one of the coolest RCs I have ever had. It inflates quickly and drives really easily. Because of the size, it is best in a room with some space to move around. However, the soft material of the body is fine if/when it bumps into something. It is great fun to chase your friends or the family pet around with. It is a must-have for fans of Jurassic Park or dinosaur fans in general. I can’t wait to have it out for Halloween as well." —Chris

Get it from Amazon for $85.57.

    25. A "Bug Bungalow" insect-catching kit to keep all those creepy crawlies from crawling creepily all over the house as future entomologists get a chance to truly bug out with their backyard findings.

    26. An easy-to-install outdoor trampoline with four legs for extra stability and a safety enclosure so the kids don't go flying into the neighbor's yard. "Sorry, Fred! We'll clean that right up!"

Reviewer's photo of black trampoline with orange trim and steps in backyard setting

    27. A super colorful pogo ball if you've got kids that have been bouncing around the house all winter and need to focus that up and down energy (preferably) somewhere else. It's like a pogo stick without the stick!

    28. A compact and lightweight Razor "RipStik Ripster" board that's like half a skateboard in that it only has two wheels (360-degree casters) and a narrow (but slip-resistant) deck. In a word: radical!

Model's sneakers standing on red and black board
Split image of top-down view and three-quarter view of red and black board
    Amazon

    For ages 8+

Promising review: "Be aware there are two sizes, and this is the smaller one (my son is 12 y/o). He rode his cousin's Ripstik and enjoyed it, so I decided to get one for him. It took some getting used to — much harder than a skateboard due to one wheel each on front and back. But after a day or two, he got it, and he's been tearing around ever since. We just returned from a snowboarding trip, and while it's different from snowboarding due to the center joint allowing the two feet to move in opposite directions, I think it helped him with balance and hip movement that is common to both. My son enthusiastically endorses this product!" —CK

Get it from Amazon for $52.60+ (available in two colors).

    29. A "Rain Showers Splash Pond" water table because sometimes the tub just can't contain all the fun (and water). Kids can create a rainfall effect and can rearrange all the spinner, ramp, and bucket pieces (STEM learning!). Most importantly, they can make as big a mess as they want!

    30. And if you're looking for something aquatic but smaller, a Playmobil "1.2.3 Aqua Splish Splash" water park for cranking up some outdoor (or indoor) aquatic action. Includes three figures to float down that lazy river.
