46 Thoughts I Had While Rewatching Thor: Ragnarok Two Days After Avengers: Infinity War

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW FOR INFINITY WAR

    1. This movie really was peak Loki

    2. Up until this movie, Thor really wasn't much of a fast talker

    3. Why didn't Loki do his hologram thing when he was around Thanos in Infinity War?

    4. Hey, they played "Pure Imagination" while Thor was making his way to Sakaar!

    5. Did the Grandmaster survive Infinity War? We might never know...

    6. Seriously, where the hell was Valkyrie in Infinity War? Or Korg, for that matter?

    7. The opening scene of Infinity War unfortunately really kinda invalidates the entirety of Ragnarok

    8. Hardly any of the Avengers really got the chance to meet the new and improved Thor in Infinity War, other than Hulk and Cap

    9. All that blabbing about Mjölnir being from "the heart of a dying star" actually comes full circle in Infinity War

    10. Thor manages to keep his shirt on for the entirety of Infinity War

    11. I'm still so glad that they kept this gladiator reveal scene exactly the same as it was in the trailers

    12. Loki's expressions throughout this entire battle are priceless!

    13. Hulk form dominates this movie, whereas Banner predominates in Infinity War

    14. This Sakaar arena needs to be more sturdy, just saying

    15. The Age of Ultron lullaby callback will never not make my day

    16. Wait a second, where was Thor's helmet in Infinity War?

    17. Heimdall was also his best self in this movie—what a shame Infinity War was for him

    18. If Tony wants to be a parent so badly, he should spend some time with Hulk, tbh

    19. Thor and Valkyrie's half-capes totally match each other

    20. I do really love how the place where Banner and Black Widow left off in Age of Ultron is actually acknowledged in this film

    21. I'm kinda bummed that Thor and Banner literally never interacted in Infinity War—I mean, I know we got a whole movie's worth of them here, but it still would've been nice to emphasize just how close the two of them are now after bonding in Sakaar

    22. Holy smokes, I'm really gonna miss Loki in the MCU now

    23. Banner and Loki really worked out their differences between The Avengers and Avengers: Infinity War

    24. The best parts of this movie are definitely the scenes on Sakaar

    25. This soundtrack really is phenomenal

    26. I honestly would have loved an entire film set on Sakaar

    27. That rainbow bridge is actually such a terrible design

    28. Also, which came first, Asgard or Mario Kart?

    29. Getting stabbed through the lower back is Marvel's new favorite "you're this close to dying" move

    30. That scene where Hela slices out Thor's right eye is really gnarly on rewatch

    31. The inside of this leisure spaceship reminds me of BB-8

    32. Banner splatting on the rainbow bridge will never not make me chuckle

    33. Same thing goes for Valkyrie's expression of disbelief after Banner finally Hulks out

    34. Seriously—I swear the "literally stabbing you in the back" thing happens at least once in every recent Marvel movie

    35. How did that lightning blast NOT kill Hela?!

    36. I still love how the Led Zeppelin got used again within the same movie

    37. Both this movie and Infinity War rely on attempting to succeed in an impossible situation by first appearing to surrender to the villain

    38. Where was Heimdall's sword at the start of Infinity War?

    39. That super-critical shot where Loki glances at the Tesseract in the Asgardian vault is WAY shorter than I remember—like seriously, a blink-and-you-miss-it moment that would make the start of Infinity War very confusing for you if you happened to glance down at that exact moment while watching Ragnarok

    40. This is seriously one of those rare occasions where I enjoy the trailers equally as much as the movie, even though they're completely different entities

    41. That scene when Thor chucks something at Loki to check if it's really him he's talking to is super validating

    42. I've already seen Infinity War twice at this point, but I can't remember if they ever show Valkyrie's body lying among the others at the start of the movie...

    43. Wait, so if they were headed to Earth, then how close did they actually get before Thanos found them?

    44. I understand why they had to do it, but I still didn't like the lack of a cool early credits sequence in Infinity War

    45. Interesting how Loki is apprehensive about returning to Earth at the end of this movie, but doesn't hesitate to to offer himself up to Thanos as an Earth tour guide (albeit under false pretenses) for the Black Order at the start of Infinity War

    46. There are a lot of ways to refer to the Avengers' home planet in the MCU that I never really noticed before: Earth, Terra, Midgard
