We Sat Down With P1Harmony To Chat About Their Latest Album "Harmony: All In"

K-pop powerhouse group P1Harmony is back with their latest album, Harmony: All In, the third and final installment of the group's "Harmony" series. The six-track project, co-written by band members, showcases the ongoing evolution of P1Harmony’s sound — continuing to captivate their fans, called P1ece.

Bilingual singers, songwriters, and dancers, P1Harmony — comprised of members Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul, and Jongseob — have continued making a name for themselves through their catchy song releases and explosive choreography.

BuzzFeed sat down with P1Harmony to chat about Harmony: All In, which one of their songs describes them the best, what memes they've seen P1ece post online, and more.

1. What’s a song you’ve had on repeat?

Keeho: Currently I've been heavily rotating Daniel Caesar's new album, Never Enough! One of my favorite tracks off of the album is "Buyer's Remorse" featuring Omar Apollo!  

Theo: Since we’ve been promoting the new album lately, I've been listening to music of artists on music programs all day.

Jiung: I've been listening to "Angel Pt. 1 (feat. Jimin of BTS, JVKE & Muni Long)" a lot lately.

Intak: I often listen to a song called “How Soon” by ASTN. The song is really sentimental and I love it.

Soul: I've been listening to a song called “Rules” by 6LACK a lot!

Jongseob: I recently purchased an LP and have been listening to the “Be Here Now” album by Oasis on repeat. 

2. Introduce yourself to readers who are meeting you for the first time!

Keeho: Hello my name is Keeho and I'm the leader and vocalist of P1Harmony! I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada and I'm 21 years old!

Theo: Hi, I’m Theo, and I’m a vocalist in P1Harmony.

Jiung: Hi, I’m Jiung from P1Harmony. I sing, rap, dance, and make music!

Intak: Hi, I’m Intak from P1Harmony. I am a rapper, dancer, and cool guy on the team! 

Soul: I’m Soul, I’m from Japan, and I really like French fries.

Jongseob: My name is Jongseob and I am in charge of rap and dance in P1Harmony. I am the happiest and most fun person on stage!

3. Harmony : All In is your sixth mini album. What message do you hope to convey with this release?

Keeho: This album represents P1Harmony achieving their final goal, which is, "completing and finding the perfect harmony." I hope listeners can see that we have really found ourselves through this album! Also every song has its own meaning so I hope our fans have fun looking into each song and seeing what it means!

Intak:  Let’s all love and believe in ourselves generously.

4. Some of the members are involved with co-writing Harmony : All In. Can you share a memorable moment you have from making this album?

Keeho: I had so much fun working on"'More Than Words!" I had spent two very long nights working on it. But it was so fun because it was a genre I personally enjoy, so the melody writing came to me so quickly and naturally. I honestly believe that's the reason why I was able to finish it in under two days. 

Jiung: I wrote the lyrics of "More Than Words" in a hotel while on tour earlier this year and it was a lot of fun to write, so it was memorable.

5. If you could only choose one of your songs to describe yourself, which one would you pick?

Keeho: Going off of our newest album, I would have to say, "I Am You" and "More Than Words!" I chose "I Am You" because I've always been a huge fan of R&B since forever and with that song I was really in my element! I also choose "More Than Words" because I love rhythmical songs that just make you want to dance and I've been really into afro-beats lately, so it really embodies my music taste currently. Also, I helped compose/produce it! 

Theo: I would say "AYAYA!" I want to live my life brightly and happily.

Jiung: I would choose "Better Together."

Intak: I chose "Back Down" because I always want to be confident and not to be back down at any point!

Soul: I would choose "One And Only." 

Jongseob: I want to choose "Swagger." I feel like the lyrics I wrote in the beginning of the song are the best way to describe me.

6. You have accomplished so much as a group and have continued to set the bar high. Do you feel any pressure to be bigger and better? How do you cope with this?

FNC Entertainment

Intak: I don’t feel too much pressure! I just want to go even higher and make P1ece proud! 

Jongseob: I do not feel any pressure, there is definitely a desire from all six of us to deliver a good song and a good performance, but I don’t see that as pressure. We are putting a lot of effort and a lot of consideration into it, and you will hear it in the future. I appreciate your patience!

7. You’re about to embark on your first Canadian and Latin American tour. What are you most excited for?

Keeho: For Canada, I'm so excited to go back home and perform our own headlining show for the first time! Also, the venue that we will be performing at is the same venue I saw my first concert at so it's a very humbling and full circle moment for me! I'm especially excited for Latin America because we have never been and I can't wait to see our Latin American P1ece and see their energy!

8. Do you have any fun things planned during your free time while you’re on tour?

Jiung: I'd like to go out on the streets and embrace the culture and try a lot of food.

9. This upcoming tour follows your packed North America tour which brought you to venues like New York’s Terminal 5, Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, Washington DC’s MGM National Harbour, and more. What was it like being able to meet your American fans face-to-face?

Soul: It was a lot of fun and I'd love to have more conversations with them, but it was quite unfortunate that I’m not fluent in English.

10. Describe your members in one word or phrase!

FNC Entertainment

Keeho: I can't just choose one member, I have a phrase for everyone! Theo is definitely unbothered, Jiung is adventurous, Intak is easily amused, Soul is truly free-spirited, and Jongseob is mature.

Theo: Soul is beyond my level of comprehension.

Jiung: Theo is a cloud and Intak is a puppy.

Intak: I would say that P1Harmony is lit!

Soul: P1Harmony is unique!

Jongseob: P1Harmony as a whole would be an alien.

11. Your fandom, P1ece, has a strong online presence. Do you watch fan edits and videos that they post? Do you have favorite videos or memes?

Theo: I’m not sure if I’ve seen too many, but I’ve definitely seen a few fan-made videos and posts! I love the meme where Keeho turns into a fish.

Soul: One of the things that stood out to me was the drawings that our fans uploaded. It’s hard to pick a favorite because there are so many! 

12. How do you feel you’ve grown since your debut?

Instagram: @p1h_official

Keeho: Besides physically growing, I think being the leader of the group mentally helped me become more responsible and be more accountable for others. Yes, it can be burdening or be some sort of a pressure but I think it helped me not only look at myself but look at everything around me and look at the bigger picture. 

Theo: I feel like I’ve grown a lot when I’m performing on stage and interacting with P1ece.

Jiung: I feel like I’ve grown a little bit in terms of how fast I work in music making and how relaxed I am on stage.

Intak: I’ve grown a lot, and I can’t wait to have P1ece experience my growth even more.

Soul: I’m not too sure if I had a major growth yet, but I think I’ve definitely grown a little.

Jongseob: Yeah, since my debut, I've thankfully experienced a lot of stages and I think I've grown a lot because of it. And, now that I'm soon to be 18, I've grown physically, too.

13. What do you want P1Harmony to be remembered for in 10 years?

Jongseob: We want to be remembered as a team whose concert you want to go to again.

Theo: We are back with "JUMP" after half a year! We’ve been working hard on this album, so please show lots of love!

15. What does K-pop mean to you?

Soul: I feel it’s something I want to keep on doing and K-pop is very cool.

Jongseob: An ongoing stage where we can JUMP!
