'00s Reality TV Show Winners: Where They Are Now

    From a hairdresser and a chicken keeper to a retired pro-quizzer, here's what your fave '00s reality stars got up to post-filming.

    If you were an avid reality TV fan in the '00s (AKA the peak reality tv years), then we can almost guarantee your Roman Empire is thinking about what the stars are up to today.

    Well, now you can thank us later because we've scoured the internet so you don't have to. 

    1. First up, we have the first ever winner of Big Brother, Craig Phillips. Craig was a builder before he entered the show in 2000, and apparently now runs his own YouTube channel with his wife.

    2. Speaking of iconic Big Brother winners, who can forget Nadia Almada?

    Nadia was the first and only trans Big Brother winner, and entertained viewers with her antics with BFF Marco Sabba. She reportedly lives in the countryside and has trained as a hairdresser.

    3. Diehard fans of Love Island will probably know that despite its recent popularity, it actually started as a celebrity show back in 2005. Jayne Middlemiss won the first series alongside Fran Cosgrave.

    Jayne is now working as a radio presenter, but has no romantic connection with Fran.

    4. Masterchef 2005 winner Thomasina Miers went on to found popular chain restaurant Wahaca.

    The company now boasts 13 branches across the UK.

    5. I bet you'll audibly gasp when you remember the iconic show that was Paris Hilton's British best friend. The winner of the 2009 show was Sam Hextall.

    Sam apparently became a Jehovah's Witness and moved to Goa after the show.

    6. The search for the next doll saw '00s faves The Pussycat Dolls search for their seventh member. The winner was Asia Nitollano.

    Asia decided to pursue a solo career, and has reportedly been working as a model.

    7. Fame Academy's first UK winner David Sneddon had a hit with "Stop Living The Lie."

    David still works in the music industry writing songs and was even responsible for penning tunes for Lana Del Ray and Lewis Capaldi!

    8. If you're a massive reality TV fan, then chances are you won't have forgotten about Survivor. The first series took place in 2001 and the winner was Charlotte.

    She's now reportedly a DC in the South Wales Constabulary.

    9. Popstars the rivals was an elite reality TV show that saw Girls Aloud and One True Voice crowned the winners.

    While many of the members of Girls Aloud are still in the spotlight, you may be wondering what happened to One True Voice? Daniel Pearce left the group to pursue a solo career, Anton Gordon is still working as a singer/songwriter, Matt Johnson is now a dad of two and a record label owner, and Keith Semple moved to Chicago and auditioned for American Idol. Jamie Shaw is now a dad and has supported the Backstreet Boys.

    10. Popstars spawned the winning band Hear'say. You'll undoubtedly remember them for hits like "Pure and Simple" and "The Way To Your Love."

    Post pop career, Noel apparently teamed up with bandmate Danny for a drag act. He's also been in West End shows, but now lives in France with his husband. Suzanne reportedly now has a son and has been in pantomime, while Myleene is a radio presenter. Kim has since gone into acting and Danny is married and went on to appear in several more reality shows.

    11. For the wannabe actors, you might've forgotten the gem that was Soapstars. The winning family ended up being cast in Emmerdale.

    Dee Whitehead went on to join the cast of a show called The Chase, Mark Jardine nabbed a place in the Corrie cast, Elspeth Brodie went on to work as a dialogue coach, while Ruth Abraham appeared in several adverts for big-name brands.

    12. In 2002, Will Young was crowned the winner of Pop Idol.

    Will fronted a 2022 documentary titled Losing my twin Rupert, and is currently still in the spotlight working as an actor, author, and activist.

    13. 2005 was the year that The Apprentice first graced our screens in the UK. The winner was Timothy Campbell.

    Tim came back to The Apprentice this year as one of Lord Sugar's aids. He is also married with two kids.

    14. I'm a celebrity get me out of here's first UK winner was Tony Blackburn. He won the show back in 2002.

    Tony revealed he'd been in hospital with sepsis earlier this year. He's still a BBC radio DJ. 

    15. In 2007, Paul Potts was crowned the first ever winner of Britain's Got Talent.

    An article from last year suggests that Paul is living in Port Talbot and is now married to his wife Julie, who he met online.

    16. Arguably one of the '00s most memorable X Factor winners was Shayne Ward. He won the show in 2005 and was the second UK winner.

    You may know that Shayne went on to act in Coronation Street, and has recently been promoting his new channel 5 show The Good Ship Murder.

    17. The first series of America's next top model took place in 2003. It was won by Adrianne Marie Curry-Rhode.

    Apparently she now lives a quiet life with her husband in Montana and is also a chicken keeper!

    18. The nation waited with bated breath to see the first person to win the big bucks on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? That person was Judith Keppel, who nabbed the million pound prize fund in 2000.
