Getting American Citizenship Is Not Easy — if You Managed It In The Last 20 Years, Tell Me How

It's difficult but doable (for some).

As any non-American who's managed to get a green card knows, it can be a daunting process — but not impossible.

According to the US Department of State's 2022 visa report, nearly 500,000 immigrant visas were issued last year.

If you got one of them — or managed to snag one sometime in the past 20 years or so — I'm curious how you did it.

Maybe you found an American citizen to marry.

Or maybe you're able to do a super-specific job that hardly anyone can do and were able to get sponsorship via an employer.

Or maybe you lucked out and won the green card lottery.
