Millennials And Gen Z, Tell Me Some Dating Habits And "Rules" That Aren't Really A Thing Anymore

Pretty sure no one follows the "third date rule" anymore.

It seems like with every new generation, there are certain dating habits and "rules" that fade away into the ether.

For instance, as a 36-year-old millennial, I still vaguely recall a time when the internet didn't play a significant role in a large section of the population's love lives.

I'm also old enough that I still remember the not-until-the-third-date-rule (i.e. don't have sex with someone before the third date), but young enough that it was mostly out of practice by the time I began dating.

I also remember when becoming "Facebook official" or letting people know "it's complicated" was all the rage — though, to be fair, I rarely use Facebook for anything other than buying tchotchkes and furniture I don't need from Marketplace, so maybe folks still do this.

If you're a fellow millennial or member of Gen Z, what are some other dating habits or rules you've noticed have fallen out of favor over the years?
