Punisher: Jigsaw Problems

First off, I thoroughly enjoyed season 1 and 2 of the Punisher. The acting is top notch. It may be Marvels most mature creation for the small screen or any screen for that matter. But I had a sort of a Jigsaw problem. SPOILERS AHEAD!!

The Face Of Jigsaw

For me, I was expecting a torn up face on Jigsaw. If you remember how season one ended, Frank dragged Billy Russo's aka Jigsaw's face across a broken mirror. I was expecting like cowhide, multiple (failed) skin grafts,etc. But Jigsaw came out with only a few scars. Jigsaw's face should have looked like a jigsaw puzzle. Plus the "Jigsaw" name was more of a metaphor because he was piecing his forgotten past together like a _________. Did you fill in the blank? Survey says "What is a Jigsaw!"

Now, I think Billy Russo the soldier was an interesting storyline for the series. I dug it. Yet, I still wanted the comic book version of the character, which is a street smart gangster that somehow managed to hold his own with Military-trained Frank Castle. I would have been like that Batman/ Joker dynamic. One is trained. The other is not. One is a genius level person. The other is a street smart being with a contaminated mind filled with evil. Still, I enjoyed what the show did with the character. They instead had Jigsaw be involved with the murder of Frank's family, which I personally dug. What the show could have done was have Jigsaw get full-blown amnesia at the end of season 2, keep his military instinct, get hired by the mob, and have him rise through the ranks during the off-season become Jigsaw early in season 3. That would have been cool .... except.

Frank Kills Jigsaw

One of the final scene of season 2 is Frank putting Jigsaw down. Dead. Done. Finished. I was hoping for something more. Billy Russo ( Jigsaw) was set up excellently in the show, minus the Jigsaw look. I felt killing him off was a waste.
