There are plenty of origins to that...some are disgustingly racial (YIKES). But the one I grew up with is that the cracks in the ground or pavement lead directly to the underworld. So stepping on a crack causes the evil demons to be released and bring bad luck.

Camp Grounds with murderous pasts are not romantic or a place to have a roll in the hay! Seriously, minus the murdering, Jason is a cock-blocker! Having sex at his Camp Grounds is an open invitation for him. Side-note, Jason drowned while those that were suppose to watch him were having sex. So it's a sore spot for the big guy!

Most early Friday the 13th films have the plot of kids renting a cabin or trying to open a camp near or on Camp Crystal lake. WHY! After one person dies on a street in my city, I avoid that street like a child actor on a Kevin Spacey film shoot.
