Tell Me About The Most Ridiculous Things Your Boomer Or Gen X Parents Have Said To You About Work Or Money

Sometimes, parents don't know what they're talking about.

I don't know about you, but the way my parents and I think about work and money could not be any more different.

For example, my parents reallyyyy wanted me to start working immediately after I graduated college, whereas I was considering going to grad school or even doing some traveling.

And I know I'm not alone — it seems pretty common for parents and kids to disagree about things when it comes to work and money, which makes sense considering that things change with each generation.

And chances are, you've probably heard your parents say some pretty frustrating things to you when it comes to finances.

Maybe your parents were adamant about you working in a certain field. I know I've had friends who have faced pressure to attain "prestigious" jobs and become a doctor or lawyer.

Or perhaps your parents have been critical of your spending habits and want you to prioritize investing in different things.

Or maybe your parents blame you for their financial distress — they paid for your college tuition and are now making you feel guilty for their contributions to your life.

So, I want to know: What's the most frustrating thing your parents have said to you about work or money?
