I Tried Starbucks's New Tie-Dye Frappuccino And, TBH, It Tastes Like Paradise

    They're bringing tie-dye back.

If your Instagram feed has been a little lackluster lately, get ready, 'cause Starbucks just launched a new Tie-Dye Frappuccino that's bound to brighten things up.

The limited-edition summer drink, which has a tropical fruit flavor, is made with a crème base and a color-dusted vanilla whipped cream topping. According to Starbucks, the drink gets its colors from turmeric, red beet, and spirulina.

The new Tie-Dye Frap is somewhat similar to 2017's Unicorn Frappuccino, which I personally thought was overwhelmingly sweet with mango syrup. But being a fan, I went to my usual Starbucks location this morning to try it for myself.

Here’s what the drink looks like when you first get it:

And in case you wanted a closer look at the color-coated whipped cream:

After the first sip, I gotta say, I was preeeetty impressed.

I was also curious to see if the colored dust on the whipped cream would alter the taste in any way, but (spoiler alert) it doesn’t. It just tastes like normal vanilla whipped cream.

A grande version of the drink, btw, came in at $6.26.

In conclusion, this drink’s flavor was pretty legit, but it didn’t totally deliver on the tie-dye swirls I was hoping to see.
