1. A nontoxic stain remover spray if your landlord is playing hard to get (in touch of) and won't swap out your lived-in carpets. You can take matters into your own hands and get rid of those caked-in mystery marks in no time.
Promising Review: "When my husband and I moved to our new home three years ago, we had a professional carpet cleaning service clean our carpets. There were a bunch of dark brown stains that wouldnāt come out no matter how much the technician tried to lift up the stain. I was absolutely shocked when the stain was gone after spraying this onto the carpet and blotting with a cotton towel. By far the BEST carpet stain cleaner I have ever used!!!! I highly recommend it!!! I am so glad that I took a chance and ordered it!" āMYRNA GOELLER
Get it from Amazon for $6.65+ (available in three sizes and multipacks).
2. A hard-water stain removerĀ that'll do all the dirty work for you to clean your new home's surfaces that...*insert high-pitched scream* look like they belong in a Hitchcock flick. Think: stained toilets, murky shower heads, and yucky tubs now so super clear and shiny, you'll probably consider this stuff a masterpiece.
It even has a minty scent, so you don't have to worry about that harsh chemical smell most cleaning products usually emit.
Promising review: "I have tried for weeks to get rid of some very tough hard-water stains on my glass shower panel. They had been there for three years while my apartment was rented and never cleaned. I have tried just about everything from toothpaste to vinegar to different types of chemical products. Then I found this product...PURE MAGIC!!! The nontoxicity of the product is definitely a plus, it doesn't smell bad and doesn't sting your lungs like some hard chemicals do. Its biodegradability is a plus! I feel better knowing I'm not dumping some more toxic chemicals down the drain. Most importantly, it works!!! After 10 minutes of work it has removed 90% of the hard-water stains that simply would not come off in the past!!" āO.R

3. And!Ā Wet & Forget shower cleaner, which makes weekly maintenance of your new-ish shower a little easier, since it *gasp* doesn't require you to do any scrubbing. No, seriously. Simply give the areas in your bathroom that could use some TLC a quick spray down with this...and then rinse off the next day. Easy!
Promising review: "This may be the best thing I have ever bought off of Amazon. And I buy quite a bit. This was something I needed and didn't even know it! Long story short, the tub in my kids' bathroom was atrocious, due to spotty cleaning and hard water. I bought this with a heavy dose of skepticism, even though the reviews were mighty impressive. On the back of the bottle it says that you may need several daily applications before your tub is clean, and then you can switch to weekly application. I'm on day three, and let me say, even if this stuff worked no further, I AM BLOWN AWAY. The shower looks close to new. A couple more days, and I'll be able to switch to weekly! I won't post pictures because I'm embarrassed of how bad it looked before. But seriously, I am SO happy to have discovered this product, and I plan to keep on using it." āTee

Now my kitchen is beautiful and the counters just light up the room! I won't lie that it took a lot of time and patience between measuring and cutting. But, if I messed up, I was able to peel and re-stick over and over. I will be most definitely buying more for the bathroom next! So affordable to transform one room in the house!" āKarissa Hastings

Promising review: "Iāve been using this product for a while, and Iāve started to rely on it. I first used this out of desperation. My dishwasher was broken from a fried control panel. I eventually replaced the panel. I opened the dishwasher, and it was fairly gross. A little stagnant water gave way to some mold. I found this product and figured Iād give it a shot. I did need to use this two or three times before the dishwasher was cleaned and usable. But I find that a major win considering the shape it was in beforehand. Promising review: "I slipped in the shower the other day and grabbed my towel bar outside of it so as not to die. Doing so, I ripped the bar off the wall, including the screws and anchors, so I had four small but kind of nasty holes in my wall. I've never done any sort of drywall repair/spackling etc. and I figured this would do the job. I applied the spackle, smoothed it with the flat end of the tube, and allowed it to dry. I was able to sand it smooth and then paint over the spackle. It looks fine now. I give it 5 stars for convenience." āJohn J. Connelly Jr.

The stove top had never really been cleaned and burn marks were all over.Ā I thought I was going to have to buy a new stove. I was sure the burned in grime over the years had ruined it. Second, it has a very small footprint, so it fits nicely anywhere in the garage without protruding out. Third, it is very powerful. We used it to power wash all stone and concrete surfaces around our house and pool and then even the sidewalk in front of the house. Many of the stone/concrete surfaces that we cleaned had dark stains and/or green moss, which had developed for many years (some up to 20 years). This Sun Joe was able to clean everything. 23. A quart of front door paint to show your neighbors that there's a new (cool) homeowner in town. And this stuff is specifically formulated to withstand the harsh elements that a front door might encounter, which also means it won't fade over time either.
Promising Review: "I painted my front door over two years ago. I took a good look at it today and thought, this door still looks great, I should submit a review about this paint. The Southern California sun beats on my front door all day. For the last 25 years, up until two years ago, it was painted with oil-based paint. The oil-based paint would fade and lose its sheen within a year, and would begin to crack by two years. I had to repair the surface and repaint the door every one to two years. Over two years ago, after sanding and filling the cracks with glazing putty, and applying a quality primer; I painted the door with black Modern Masters front door paint. The paint has not cracked. The satin sheen is still intact. And most amazing, there is no noticeable fading." āSusan D.

Plus, I wrap a microfiber towel around the bristles and can then dry those really deep grout lines so the dirty water doesn't fill them." āOAH

Promising review: "I hate to clean blinds. I've tried every method you could imagine but none really did a good job. Promising review:Ā "So we rent our house, and the carpets here are god awful, cheap, and put in carelessly.Ā When we moved in, the people that rented the house before us had a dog and seemed to NEVER vacuum.Ā The first time I vacuumed here, I did so three times in a row, and my vacuumās canister was FILLED with dust, dirt, and dander every single time. I also did the olā baking soda treatment a few times which seemed to make matters worse. Finally, I caved and bought this carpet cleaner. I had JUST VACUUMED the day prior and then vacuumed AGAIN before using this cleaner.Ā The amount of deep-seated dirt that came out and filled the canister was just so disgusting. This carpet cleaner is amazing! It even sucked up clumps of leftover hair way down in the carpets from the dog of the previous renters!!Ā I really recommend this product!! The drying time is so quick, only a couple hours, but I did use a fan to speed it up. It also got rid of the nasty pet smell from accidents and overall odor from the previous renter's dog.Ā The carpet is looking like new and my house is finally smelling like a normal home.Ā I recommend!!!" āKatie Lynn Crammer

Drill Brush is a small business based in New York State that makes cleaning brushes that attach to drills. It was started in 2007 by a former electrician who suffered from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and needed a way to clean without causing them harm.
Promising Review: "Iām in love with this. I manage many apartment properties and finding people to do the cleaning has been tricky business, so I end up having to get in and clean these horrendous filth pods tenants have lived in when theyĀ moveĀ out. The ovens and stove tops are usually the worst, and I absolutely hate cleaning. I came across this drill attachment set and let me tell you it helped me tremendously! I still had to get in with a putty knife on some of them but it really cut down my elbow grease time. If it wasnāt for this drill attachment, I think my arms would have just fallen off trying to clean it as good as I did! My only con would be that it doesnāt have any extension of any sort so I really had my drill all up in that oven, but well worth it." āFaedaa

30. Howard Products wood polisher to wipe away (probably) years of water rings and scuffs from surfaces you thought were beyond repair. This stuff tackles tough stains and acts as a conditioner to reveal a brighter grain and texture on your beloved furniture and floors.
Promising review: "Absolutely love this stuff! We have an older log cabin that was pretty neglected, both inside and out. Our wood floors were faded and worn. The outside logs looked dry and faded. I decided to give this a try before paying to have the floors sanded and refinished; and also outside before having the whole log home restained. This stuff is absolutely amazing. It soaks into the wood and really revitalizes it. In spots that the wood soaks it in quickly, a second or third treatment may be needed. I just squirted it on the floor and mopped it in with a mircofiber mop. Outside, I added it to a rag and simply wiped the logs. It's been a week now and this is not a temporary fix like you might see with Orange Glo or others that leave a greasy, temporary finish. What an awesome buy!!!" āFrank T.
Get it from Amazon for $9.98.
31. And! A set of 50 wood fillers designed to touch up pet scratches and heel indentations that have gone untreated. This will reveal wood finishes that look brand spankin' new in no time.
Promising Review: "My partner and I recently bought a 140-year-old home with original wood floors and wood work throughout. We had the floors refinished to their original beauty, but the baseboards and stair risers were a challenge. They were pretty banged up over years of use, and, after the floors were redone, all the nicks and scratches just stood out that much more. Our floor guy tried staining them, but it wouldn't take. The floors themselves took nine coats of stain because they were so old. The painter tried using pens from a well known paint company, but they didn't work either. My partner found these and showed them to me. To our delight the pens worked incredibly well. It's like a magic marker for wood. I'm still amazed how well they worked. I ordered two more packages because I didn't want to run out. The pens last a long time. Our painter came back to do some minor touch ups, and I showed him what I used. He couldn't believe it. He said he was going to buy them to keep in his arsenal, lol! I Love this product. Thank you so much for making them!" āKathleen W

Promising Review: "I live in an apartment. The sink is about 35 years old and has become badly stained and scratched from neglect and indifferent care. This has made a noticeable difference. This sink will never look brand new again, but your product removed, I would say, about 80% of the stains, without any extraordinary effort, and put a really polished look on the sink. It is gleaming and actually looks very clean for the first time since I have lived here. I am betting that with continued and consistent use of Therapy cleaner, it will continue to improve. Thank you for a most excellent product." āDavid Brennan

Newsome decided to make a cleaner that's just as effective but without SLES and SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate are both known to cause irritation and allergic reactions for people with sensitive skin).
Former BuzzFeed Shopping editor Bek O'ConnellĀ put this to use and raves: "You know that refreshing feeling you get after a deep clean at the dentist? That's how I feel about my home after using this spray. The peppermint smell is so invigorating and makes everything smell fresh. It cuts through grime and dust with no problem, and I think might actually scare off mice (rodents hate minty smells). The sprayer works well, and the bottle is even made from recycled plastic. I have to say, it's really nice to use a cleaner that works but doesn't give off unpleasant fumes or put my dog at risk. If you're looking for a multipurpose spray that smells like a nice piece of gum instead of the bottom of a swimming pool, try it out!"
Get it from The Hoot forĀ $6.99+Ā (available with two sprayer nozzle options).Ā
